HECATE GLAMMED UP FOR THE AWARDS!As you can see, voting will be different this time. Instead of nominating someone and then voting, we'll go straight to voting. If you can, please vote for every category though if you absolutely cannot think of anything, you can skip them. Voting ends October 2nd. Each first place winner will get a small banner to put in their signature and their picture will be up in the sidebar. All award graphics will be kept in a thread located in this section. HOW THIS WORKS: Each first place mention receives 2 votes and each second place mention receives 1. Votes are tallied and a winner is announced. Also, we would love it if you give us a reason for why you're voting for them. Make sure not to just vote for the same person over and over again, and preferably not yourself. You can also give people "honorable mentions" if you simply just can't pick only 2 people for a category. Just mention them and although they won't be counted in voting, you can still give them props! Note that the same character cannot win in the same category two months in a row. Also note that for pairing it doesn't have to be all romantic, it can simply be a duo or tag team. Remember, you get points for voting! Female of the Month: 1. Charrie - Why 2. Female of the Month: 1. "Mona" Lisa Dragoti - Bri is positively amazing, simply put. Since she created Mona, she's brilliantly fleshed her out through interacting with a whole slew of characters on RC. I daresay she's one of the most active people here, and she's always so willing to thread with everyone, and she's the sweetest girl I've ever met. Mona is so complex and brilliant, and the saddest character I've ever seen (and I've seen and I have some pretty sad characters). I feel so bad for her, always getting the short end of the stick (is that an expression? Well, now it is). She definitely deserves an award. Maybe that'll make her feel better! xD 2. Jiao "Jo Mahr - I love what she's done with the reinvention of this character. She's really taken Jo's basic makeup and remade it brilliantly for RC. I was going to take this character as my fourth in all honesty, but I probably wouldn't have done her justice. I really like the Asian aspect she brings to the table, as it brings a sort of new meaning to being free the way Jo wants to be (since Asians don't give much high regard to females). Its even more believable she wants to be a boy. I haven't roleplayed with Jo yet, but I really hope to in the future.
Male of the Month: 1. Sherlock Holmes - Do I even have to explain? The Holmes to my Watson, of course. There couldn't be anyone more perfect to play the offbeat and eccentric consulting detective (only one in the world, mind you) and give him fresh life on RC than Emmy. I was a bit wary of her Holmes at first, keeping in mind how positively brilliant Tichy was with him before, but Emmy's Sherlock is completely different and yet completely perfect in that he captures the Holmes of the stories (as I've now read a lot of them) perfectly, as well as having influence from other adaptations and Emmy herself, as she's often quoted as saying she's given Holmes a lot of her personality.
And his sneakers. Dear God I love his sneakers. 2. Thomas "Keres" Kristofferson - Tommy hasn't had any threads yet (I don't think, correct me if I'm wrong Kay), but the reason I'm voting for him is because I'm so impressed that Kay took a character she'd had positively no muse for and revamped him so extensively, and I'm impressed how much better he works now. I thought I liked Tommy before, but I LOVE him now. Who knew you could have a lovable serial killer? Not me, but I certainly love him now. And he and Erik are fashion buddies, so how could I not vote for him?
(Honorable mention is Gregory Lestrade. Even though Gabby's just joined, I LOVE her version Lestrade immensely, and I really can't wait till Sherlock and John thread with him. He's so complex, and I'm really sorry I only get two votes. I seriously love him to bits.)
Pairing of the Month: 1. James Moriarty Edwards and Sherlock Holmes - ... Duh? xD No no, I kid. But seriously, this is more than perfect. Kay is always blindingly brilliant as Jimmy with his snarkiness, and as stated before, Emmy is masterful as the brooding detective, and if their thread together is any indication, I'd say I'm extremely looking forward to all those face offs these two will have. They have more chemistry (albeit the kind of chemistry arch enemies have) than dynamite! 2. Victor Griffiths and Mary Jane Kelley - Again, duh? xD The Ripper and his last great victim is of course a force to be reckoned with, and Jill and Allie have done a brilliant job of fleshing out the beginnings of their relationship, though I have no idea if they will become friends (at least to Mary), or Victor won't see her again until he kills her, or what! But that's the best part is to keep you guessing, and they're doing a fine job of that.
Thread of the Month: 1. TV Dinners (James Moriarty Edwards and Sherlock Holmes) - Why not? The thread itself between these two is extremely hilarious, and the image alone of the two having a row in the supermarket (fighting with condoms and turkey, no less! And don't forget the baguettes) is enough to last a while in laughs. Its so great to FINALLY really see these two together in action, especially since Tichy left right before anything could really happen between her Holmes and Moriarty. 2. Devestations - I feel silly for voting for a thread I'm in, but I'm only just in it. I'm basically voting for it because I know how EXTREMELY awkward this is going to get, especially since Jane is one of the friendliest characters on RC, and she's going to have A LOT of visitors in her time of need. If the first few posts with Jane and Claudius are anything to go by, even though Jane could have died, her recuperation will be hilariously awkward indeed.

Female of the Month: 1. Mona "Lisa" Dragoti - Leffie's already pretty much covered it. I can't really add anything to what she's already said. Bri is amazing, Mona is a brilliant character and it saddens me that we're going to eventually lose her. 2. Mary Jane Kelly - Allie is a devastatingly talented writer who returned to RC just to create this amazing character. I...it....she....there are no words.
Male of the Month: 1. Claudius Chandler - I love the drunkard, what can I say? Even though Nessie wasn't sure what direction to take Claudius when she first got him, he's turned into a wonderfully complex and always amusing character. I've had the good fortune of threading with Claudius with two different characters and can say that he's a brilliant character and Nessie a brilliant rper. 2. Harry "Hamlet" Chandler - First off, I couldn't very well vote for Claudius without voting for his enemy. Second of all, Harry is a lovely character who is very complex but at the same time driven by simple motivations. Again, I've had the pleasure of threading with this character and it's one of my favorite threads that I'm currently taking part of.
Pairing of the Month: 1. Richard and Anne Sophie Plantagenet - There are fireworks every time these two thread together and this month is no different. 2. Sherlock Holmes and Sebastian Martin - The absurdity of their thread is hilarious and these two characters, polar opposites, interact amazingly well together.
Thread of the Month: 1. April's Fool - Roger and Jehanne - I'm not sure if this one counts because it's only one post in but god damn it's nice to have both of those characters back. Sammeh's opening post is just...whoa and I know Thistle is going to do something amazing with her reply. 2. No One Hears Me Complain - Monte Cristo and Jiao Mahr - There's just something about this thread that makes me smile whenever I read it. I'm not sure why though I have a sneaking suspicion it has to do with the expert execution on both Jaime and Bick's part.

Female of the Month: 1. Alison 'Alice' Liddell - Bri is an amazing roleplayer in that she captures Alice's natural curiosity and child-like nature well, keeping her true to the canon while still giving her a modern flair. I must admit I'm stalking her thread with Anne and look forward to seeing where her thread with Holly will lead! 2. Jiao 'Jo' Mahr - This reinvention of the character is abolsutely brilliant; Jo's posts are always detailed and well written and I love the fact she speaks Chinese - I feel smart when I understand it. I have not forgotten my five years of Mandarin! XD
Male of the Month: 1. Harry 'Hamlet' Chandler - Yols' original Harry Chandler was nothing short of amazing, but her revamping of the character made me love him all the more. It's clear Yols really understands Harry as this is shown in the detail of her posts and her brilliantly subtle canon references (I love those!) 2. Hector 'Hades' Tormei - I love the thread he and Claudius have together at the moment; Kay's reinvention of Hector was sublime and I look forward to seeing how 'new Hector' develops as time goes on. (:
Pairing of the Month: 1. Jiao 'Jo' Mahr and Medea Kekelidze - Even though their thread together is only just beginning, I love this pairing and can't wait to see how they'll get along together. 2. Irene Adler and Sherlock Holmes - Because even from reading one thread of theirs I know these two will be brilliant together. I love Irene's teasing of Holmes and how he responds.
Thread of the Month: 1. Each to Each (Jane & Monte Cristo) - I love how Monte Cristo sort of stood up for Jane and how these two very polite individuals interact. (: 2. Hate On Me (Mona Lisa Dragoti & Sebastian Timothy Martin) - This thread started off with an unsual situation and devloped from there, which I love. The relationship between Sebastian and Mona is an interesting one, making this thread a great read. (:

Female of the Month:1. "Mona" Lisa Dragoti - As Kay said, Leffie's just about explained everything. Mona is so brilliantly complex, so incredibly sad, and yet so amazingly lively. And Bri... Well, Bri is just Brilliant. BRI-lliant. Haha. Yeah. 2. Alison "Alice" Liddell - Haha. Bri again. Anywho, I've always been a fan of Alice In Wonderland, and Bri's version of the story's protagonist is simply wonderful. As Ness has already said (why has everybody already said things? >.<), her level of child-like curiosity is spot-on, and though she is marvellously so much similar to the original character, this Alice obviously and definitely Bri's very own. Male of the Month:NOTE: Really difficult category for me here! There are so many male characters that I think deserve this, that even narrowing it down to three was difficult. Then I realised I had to pick TWO. And put them in order. And that was the day my head exploded... Nah, it didn't really. >.< That was another day. So, yeah, I just wanted to note that I love all three equally as much. And the order of them was decided upon by 'Ip-Dip-Doo'. Because I'm normal like that. 1. James Moriarty Edwards - Simply put, I LOVE Kay's Jimmy. Now, see, that would be a good enough description, for me. But that's only because I'm not very good at explaining things. Anywho, I think that Kay did a brilliant (there it is again. I think I have an addiction to using that word) job at describing his personality through 'layers', and the different sides to him are so (at least in my view, they are - even if it wasn't the intended aim) contradictive that it's just marvellous. And every post of Kay's that I read is just so typically her character that it is so easy to imagine whatever-she-writes happening. In my opinon, she puts so much work (I have just been reliably informed that she doesn't. By the Queen herself. Loverly. Bloody good improvisation, then) and sheer brilliance (it is a great word, though) into her work - I especially love the recent one-shot, Natural History - and is most certainly shows. Which is... incredible. Baha, thought I was going to say brilliant, eh? 2. Doctor John Watson - An obvious choice. Not only because it's Watson, but because he is a truly brilliant character. Leffie treats all of her characters marvellously, and the ex-army Doctor is cerainly no exception. He is fabulously so much like Doyle's original, but also wonderfully Leffie's own. She has claimed that, though originally intending to take up Sherlock, she was a 'much better Watson'. And I must say, it's extremely fortunate for us all (particularly me, as I probably wouldn't have stood a chance should she have wanted Holmes) that she thought so. (My honourable mention is Sebastian Timothy Martin. Oooooh, I really wanted to put him in. >.<) Pairing of the Month:1. Mary Jane Kelly and Victor Griffiths - Describing this would not do justice what I really think, as I really am terrible at describing things. So the reasons already stated are my reasons as well. Thanks Kay. 2. "Mona" Lisa Dragoti and Sebastian Timothy Martin - I completely adore Mona and Seb's friendship. Though, as I decided to work writing these from the bottom to the top, I don't want to repeat myself, really. So see my second choice for thread of the month (WHY CAN'T THEY BOTH BE FIRST?! D:) for a full description. Or at least fuller than this. Thread of the Month:1. Cut His Throat In The Church, Richard Plantagenet and Harry "Hamlet" Chandler - For some reason, I really do like this thread a lot. Perhaps the main part being that I love each character's internal ponderings on almost anything the other has to say. A bit of a weird reason for liking it, I suppose, but there you go. Though, then there's the fact that they are, quite simply, two of Shakespeare's characters. Being the perfectly normal person I am, I just love that! Written brilliantly by Ness and Yols, I can easily say it is most certainly one of my favourite threads. 2. Hate On Me, "Mona" Lisa Dragoti and Sebastian Timothy Martin - Though I do seem to be using the word brilliant an awful lot, this is just incredibly so. I can really imagine this scene happening, which is always a lovely thing when you're reading a thread. But the two's friendship is great, for lack of a better word (I really need to cut down on the amount of times I say 'brilliant'). I think they're both just perfect - though I really can't find the right words to say it. As obvious here, I am really terrible at giving reasons for things.

Female of the Month: 1. Jane Eyre - First of all I mean look at her! Kay's version of Jane Eyre is amazing. She got me hooked on her the moment that I read one of her posts. Her relationships with other characters on site are amazing and I'm excited to see where the Devestations thread will win. Our shy little Awkward turtle is getting a lot of attention from all her friends. 2. Dolores Haze - Well other then she's my Mona's best friend, she also makes me want to read all her posts! Every thread that I have read with Lo in it just makes me smile. Rain brings such joy to a post and makes me want to read it over and over again. Watch Disney there is a new Princess in town.
Male of the Month: 1. James Moriarty Edwards - Really read his new one-shot! It is amazing!!!!! He is absolutely insane and I love him. His threads make me laugh and smile at his sarcasticness. (is that a word?) He is utterly a mad genius, and I can't to read more about his exports and evil plans in the future. 2. Thomas "Keres" Kristofferson - I love new Tommy!. I mean I took his thread virginity (cause Mona's like that) And already I can already tell that he is going to be a great character for anyone to thread with. His background and is just so amazingly different from anyone else's on site! And plus he has an amazing style. >.<
Pairing of the Month: 1. James Moriarty Edwards and Sherlock Holmes - Why Leffie really summed it up, (cause she's totally Awesome). These two have finally gotten together! Let the games begin, it will be an epic battle one in which I am sure we will all be stalking. 2. Sherlock Holmes and Sebastian Martin - Sherlock hanged +Chemist Seb= a fun time! These two are a great match in the thread department. They are just so funny to read and so different that they match perfectly.
Thread of the Month: 1. Devestations~ Jane, Claudius, Erik - Seriously this thread is just so amazing and awkward. Leffie really summed it up in her post. 2. Club Heterosexual ~ Jebs - When you put these together in a a post set in a club what you get is amazing! I love these two so much but this post is just so awesome! I can't wait to read more of it in the future.

First off, let me say that there are a ton of really great characters around here, and I'm really enjoying how each of them has been interpreted for this modern day setting. I'm still sort of trying to find my feet, so my vote might very biased because I have not had the opportunity to really sit down and read each and every thread, look at every application (and research the original character to see how they compare), or even had a chance to rp with so many of you here yet. So, my apologies in advance to those who are actually more deserving of a vote and haven't received a vote here.
Female of the Month: 1. Alison "Alice" Liddell - A really great interpretation of Alice in Wonderland. The curiosity, the innocence, the subtle stubborn streak, all perfect. Each thread has been a pleasure to read, just to see what will she get up to next. 2. Jehanne Marie D'Arc - Another character whose interactions I'm constantly reading, and each thread is read with great anticipation.
Male of the Month: 1. Thomas "Keres" Kristofferson - I would never have thought to interpret Keres in this way, and I am loving the extremes that this character is going through on the board. You know ooc what he is capable of, but your own character doesn't even get the slightest hint! I love that! 2. The Count of Monte Cristo - This dear gentleman is the actual reason why I joined this board. Beautifully played and consistent in his portrayal, I've been inspired to pay more attention to my own character and the original canon that she is drawn from.
Pairing of the Month: 1. Lady Catherine de Bourgh & Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde - Sparks are bound to fly in this pairing, and I can't wait to see how Her Ladyship handles being around someone who she would normally not associate with. And when the good doctor makes an appearance? It might just blow her mind! 2. Harry "Hamlet" Chandler & Richard Plantagenet - The potential for these two... I might not know either of them very well, but I get the idea that together they could put right whatever is wrong in the world.
Thread of the Month: 1. TV Dinners (Sherlock Holmes & James Moriarty Edwards) - Oh my goodness! Hilarious! I can't stop checking up on this thread to see what's going to happen next! 2. Hate On Me ("Mona" Lisa Dragoti & Sebastian Timothy Martin) - Not sure why exactly, just that it is an extremely believable thread and I've enjoyed reading it so far.

Mind the use of the staff account for this. These were totally last minute and the thread was locked as I was finishing these up and so I had to use this account. Anyway. Pointless commentary over. Here go my noms/votes/whatever. Female of the Month:1. Jiao "Jo" Mahr - Holy hell, has she been making the rounds on RC and believe me, I'm far from minding. For someone who apparently was on RP hiatus for quite some time, Bick certainly has taken to RC well and vice versa. Her interpretation of Jo March is one of the most creative I've seen and her posts are always incredibly thought-out. This is a great example of how to write wonderfully fleshed out characters. <3 2. Jehanne Marie De'Arc - Three cheers for the return of Thistle and her brilliantly revamped Joan of Arc! Reading through her amazing posts now, I'm reminded of why I missed her presence on RC so much. Glad to have her back. Male of the Month:1. Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde - No, I'm not biased. This lovely nutter has hit the ground running this past month and hasn't stopped since then. Obviously taking on a character that was handled so brilliantly by someone else before you can be a bit daunting, but gawddamn if Laz hasn't proven herself to be a force to be reckoned with. We've not seen all that much of the more tame of this disastrous pair, but the maniac that we've had the privilege to read is totally brilliant. Way to kick some almighty ass, Laz. 2. Sherlock Holmes - Speaking of taking on characters handled brilliantly by someone else before her, Emmy's another that has just completely taken charge and blown me away with her characterization of Sherly. It's painfully obvious that she knows this character quite well and her ability to capture him at the level that she has just astounds me. Sherly is, in my opinion, one of the most difficult characters to portray accurately and the fact that Emmy has done this with ease is a credit to her ability as a writer. Pairing of the Month:1. Sherlock Holmes and James Moriarty Edwards - Umm, if you've been reading up on them, then it goes without saying why they deserve this win. However, in order to stroke some egos ( ), I'll say some words regarding them. First off, they're legendary arch enemies. I know that term tends to breed images of comic book heroes and villains, but trust me. There's nothing hokey about this rivalry. Just pure badassness and yes, hilarity. Written exquisitely by two insanely talented writers. 2. Roger Davis and Jehanne Marie De'Arc - Now that both Sammeh and Thistle have made their triumphant return to RC, I can start loving this duo again. I remember falling big head over heels in literary love with this one way back when and it's a treat to find that they've still got an amazing dynamic working for them. Can't wait to continue creepin' these two. Thread of the Month:1. Two for Tea (Edward Hyde & Lady Catherine De Bourgh) - Jesus Christ in a little red wagon, this thread is pure gold. It's got an insane amount of humor paired with Hyde's menace. I don't know whether to cackle or shudder in fear. I think that's a good sign. Maybe. Top that off with the beast writers that are Nessiebear and Laz and you've got pure win. I'm definitely stalking this one. 2. Birds and Promises (Thomas "Keres" Kristofferson and Jiao "Jo" Mahr) - All I have been doing while reading this thread is "d'awwwwwing" all over the place. Tommy is all kinds of adorable, which says a lot about Kay's epic ass writing talent considering he's a damn serial killer, and Jiao is equally d'aww-worthy. This whole pirate scheme with the kids is too cute and these two play off of each other really well. Great chemistry.
