Excuse the silly title. XD Richard's old list was old and, although still relevant, hadn't seen the light of day since some time last year. Time, thought I, for updating it and making it all spiffy looking. I'm rubbish at picking playbys, hence the single suggestions on most of these. =P
{George Plantagenet, Duke of Clarence}
56, Public Advocate in the New York City Government
Potential Playby: John Hurt
Shakespeare's George is a naive and gullible man, believing his younger brother Richard to have his best interests at heart when Richard is really plotting to have him killed. This could prove for some amusing encounters at RC, not to mention some brotherly love for Ricky now Eddy's kicked the bucket. XD It would also be interesting to see George's take on the whole governmental deal we have going here, considering the only governmental figures RC seems to have are...well...Hector and Ricky. =P And you know what they're like.
{Henry Stafford, Duke of Buckingham}
30-50, Government official
Potential Playbys: Will Patton (as Scott Pritchard in No Way Out - the character reminded me of Buckingham so much for some reason), Chuk Iwuji (He was K-Space's Buckingham at The Old Vic - AMAZINGNESS)
I'm of two minds about Buckingham. I could see him as being an over-eager young penpusher who gets sucked into the corruption of RC's city politics and joins Team Ricky (contrary to canon, I know) or as another old hand who dislikes Hector's policies. Buckingham is almost as amoral as Richard in the play but his moral code returns to him at the mention of killing the princes...not that we have any princes to murder, mind, but I think this would make for an interesting and well-rounded figure.
{Elizabeth Plantagenet (nee Woodville)}
Late 40s-early 50s, Widow of the late Mayor Edward Plantagenet
Potential Playbys: Anne Archer, Juliet Stevenson
Elizabeth Woodville has been married twice; one to a Lancastrian politician John Grey and then to the late Edward Plantagenet. It is commonly assumed she married her second husband for power and status rather than genuine love and affection (in other words, a bit of a social climber); something Richard firmly believes and endeavours to have other believe as well. This obviously creates a mutual dislike between these two, though Elizabeth herself would, I feel, be a fascinating personality to bring to RC.
{James Tyrrell}
20-30, Low ranking government official
Potential Playbys: Adrian Dunbar
I was going to put up Ratcliffe, Lovell and Catesby (Richard's henchmen chappies) but then came to the conclusion they were all pretty samey and that Tyrrell was the one who deserved a mention on the ol' list. He's the one Richard hired to kill the princes; at RC I see him as being a lower ranking government official who, easily swayed by bribes, would make himself useful as a sort of governmental/corporate spy. He could wreak havoc at RC for the right price!
