00V. description Exuding an enigmatic, compassionate air, Thomas’s body language is always easy going and never ostracizing. However, this doesn’t extend to his eyes. Thomas has very large, very blue eyes that can easily be described as ‘dead’. There is no sparkle, no gleam of humanity in his dark eyes. Most people don’t notice this unless they really look, his smile and laugh lines belaying the truth. Thomas dresses as one might except a preschool teacher to dress; cardigans, polo shirts, bright colors with the occasional pattern. It’s almost impossible to find Thomas wearing black or grey except on special occasions. His footwear tends to be of the eye-catching yet functional sort to go with his colorful wardrobe.
00I. overall personality Even though he is burdened by extremely violent tendencies Thomas is genuinely a caring man. He adores children and is compassionate to mankind as a whole with a few glaring exceptions. In general he gives people the benefit of the doubt, trusting them but then remaining skeptical if they violate that trust. That isn’t to say that someone couldn’t earn his trust back, because they can, it is just very difficult to do so. If this violation somehow involves children in any way shape or form, that person is forever on Thomas’s shit list. It is an unforgivable sin to harm a child in any capacity, even just talking negatively about children in general. Thomas loves children, all children, and thinks that each one is a pure, beautiful soul that needs to be protected until it matures. It was one of the reasons he became a preschool teacher. It gave him a change to nurture the innocents and make sure that, even for a short while, they are taken care of properly.
When it comes to other people of the adult variety, Thomas is easy going and a pleasure to know. In general, he isn’t confrontational or hard to get along with. Polite and charming, Thomas has an almost boyish quality to his personality. Which a crooked smile that he only shares when truly amused and large, trusting eyes Thomas doesn’t make enemies. He’s the “nice guy” that most everyone knows and likes but doesn’t pay much attention to. With a bit of awkwardness thrown in, Thomas manages to endear himself to society and distance himself all at once. Even though he may seem perfectly nice and polite he’s just ‘off’ enough to make people want to avoid him. He isn’t this way on purpose, Thomas just doesn’t know how to act around people to an extent.
Beneath the nice guy exterior, there is a darkness that Thomas more often than not tries to ignore. It’s a combination of rage, hate, and disgust that he is sometimes completely unable to reign in. It all starts when he sees someone mistreating a child or shows themselves to entirely unfit to be parents. An indescribable loathing begins building inside until it breaks loose in a violent and bloody manner. An opportunistic killer, Thomas uses whatever is handy to finish off someone who is horrible to, or for, children. Unlike some killers, Thomas is often consumed by remorse the instant the deed is done since every person was once a child. He attempts to make up for it as soon as possible through a random act of kindness or something similar. Even though he kills people, Thomas is far from heartless and hates himself for doing what he now sees as a necessary evil. Those people he targeted were a threat to the future of the world, in his mind, and he had to make sure that they never got a change to screw things up for anyone.
In all reality, Thomas does not kill that often. He may kill once a month, sometimes making an exception and killing twice in one month based off of what he sees. Typically though, he falls into a severe depression for a couple of days before clawing his way out of it. This attributes to Thomas’ skinny frame, during these depressions he doesn’t eat anything and will barely remember to drink water. Afterwards he doesn’t bother replenishing the nutrients he lost during that fasting period.
Thomas considers himself lucky for not having any major ambitions for the future. The most that Thomas wants is to find someone and settle down. He’s not necessarily looking to fall in love, he just wants someone who could raise a kid and raise them well. Romance isn’t required in his opinion but he wouldn’t turn it down if it was offered to him. Just as he is awkward in crowds of people, Thomas is a bit uncomfortable in relationships at the beginning but is able to warm up to them eventually.
0II. strengths Very good with children, a natural caretaker, relatively creative
III. weaknesses Emotionally unstable, judgmental, violent.
0IV. goals All Thomas wants is for all the children of the world to be taken care of and treated with love and compassion.
00I. notable family & friends None, his family is dead and he doesn’t have any real friends.
0II. overall history Thomas Aaron Kristofferson was born May 19th to Gerald and Amanda Kristofferson. At that time, Gerald worked as a professor at Adam State University in Colorado but received an offer to work at New York University. When Thomas was 3, the Kristofferson family picked up and moved to New York so Gerald could teach Western Philosophy at NYU. The family moved to the north side of Manhattan and Gerald’s job plus Amanda’s paycheck from jewelry making meant that young Thomas never went without. His wasn’t luxurious but he was always comfortable.
At a very early age, it was obvious that Thomas was a caretaker. In preschool and elementary school Thomas looked out for the other kids by taking on the bullies and giving his lunch to the ones who didn’t have anything to eat. He would come home from school almost every day covered in bruises and hungry but happy because some other kid had it good for that day. No one thought anything of this until in middle school when Thomas smashed a desk over a bully’s head for grabbing an 11 year old girl’s breast. He was suspended for a month.
Following that incident, it became quite clear that Thomas saw himself as the champion of children. He got in trouble over the years but it tapered off when he got into college and married the love of his life, Cynthia. They were married for four happy, happy years before Cynthia gave birth to triplets, Sandra, Andrea, and Matthew. During that time, after graduation, Thomas was working as a preschool teacher and was on top of the world. Everything he ever wanted he had. Then disaster struck. Cynthia, out of the blue, divorced Thomas, gaining custody of their three children, now five years old. He was only able to see them on holidays thanks to Cynthia’s lawyers and Thomas hated it.
Then, October of 2007, Thomas got news that his children were dead from heat exhaustion. Cynthia had forgotten them at a park and they had no way to get home so they walked. They collapsed three blocks from their home and died later in the hospital. Thomas was enraged. Not thinking clearly, Thomas tracked Cynthia down and spent two days torturing her before finally killing her. Something had snapped inside of him and now Tommy was on the war path, trying to avenge his children and children all over the world.
III. sample postIt should have been a nice day. The sun was shining, the sky was a clear blue, and the temperature was agreeable but Thomas felt like there was something that wasn’t quite right. He didn’t know what it was, just that there was something that made his skin crawl.
Thomas didn’t like it when he got a bad feeling like that.
Walking down the street he saw an African-American woman dart into an alley, a baby cradled to her chest. Thomas didn’t think anything of it until that same woman walked out of the alley. With her arms empty.
Thomas felt his heart plummet. Oh god. His leisurely pace picked up and he darted into the alley. He could hear a baby crying, but it sounded so muffled. “I’m coming!” He called out desperately, spinning in circles, trying to find out where the small voice was coming from. His gaze eventually settled on one of the dumpsters and Thomas had a dive at it. Carefully but quickly he pulled back debris and there she was, lying on top of a black trash bag. She was so tiny and pale, her umbilical cord still red and bleeding.
“Oh honey…” Thomas gingerly lifted the squirming and crying infant from her makeshift bed. There were still bits of placenta stuck to her and her eyes were crusted shut. Thomas gave a little sob and pulled the child closer. “It’s okay sweetheart…I’m right here,” He juggled the small body with care as he pulled off his yellow cardigan and then wrapped her in it.
“I’m right here.”
--------------
Thomas had made a beeline to the nearest hospital after finding the girl. He explained what happened, conceded to a paternity test, and waited for the police, carefully answering all their questions. They had let him hold the baby girl after their cleaned her up and checked her over since the girl was so calm around Thomas. The time came though, for him to hand her over to the nurse and to walk away.
“I wish I could be your daddy,” He had whispered to the small girl who he had named Lucinda, or Lucy, in his mind. He didn’t get to name her though, one of the nurses did. Tanna was her official name but Thomas looked down at her and saw Lucy.
Little Lucy, so small and frail.
“I wish I could be your daddy,” He had repeated in a hushed tone. “I would love you and raise you right. I could never do anything so horrible to you,” The tears started to fall, sliding down his aquiline nose before dripping onto Lucy’s soft pink blanket. “I would never hurt you. I would love you and drive you to your soccer games and go to every school play; I would hang your pictures on the fridge and tuck you in at night; read you Dr. Seuss when you’re sick and the Velveteen Rabbit for bedtime; patch up your skinned knees and kiss them better,” Thomas’s arms began to shake a little, but not enough to wake the sleeping babe. “I would be the best father to you…I wish I could be,”
Thomas kissed Lucy’s tiny forehead and handed her away. He watched her disappear behind a door and went to the men’s bathroom where he cried in a stall.
--------------
Two days after handing Lucy away, Thomas was sure that he would never forget the face of the woman who abandoned her. He began to lurk around that alleyway, hoping that woman would stop by again. She did. One week after Little Lucy was left to die; she walked into the alley with a small paper bag. Thomas’s eyes hardened and he took off after her.
She stood by the dumpster, peering inside and shifting stuff around.
“She isn’t there,” Thomas said coldly, placing himself at the entrance of the alley, his hands clenched into tight fists as his side. The woman yelped and jumped.
“Don’t know what chu talkin’ bout,” She snapped and tried to leave. Thomas’s hand shot out, clamping down on her thin arm. She thrashed and tried to break free but Thomas ignored her, dragging her further down into the alley. Once they were far enough away from the street, he gave her a shove.
“Why did you do it?” He asked, his voice even and lackluster. The woman sneered at him and tried to push past him again. Thomas didn’t let her. Grabbing her shoulders he shoved her back into the wall; her head bounced with a dull thud and she cried out in pain. “Why did you leave her? Answer me!” Thomas gave the woman a shake, his voice rising in volume. She threw profanities at him, clawing at his face and arms.
“She…was…just…a…baby!” Every word was punctuated with Thomas pulling the woman to him and throwing her back into the wall. “A…helpless…child!” He didn’t notice the splatter on the wall or the wet, sucking sound every time he drew her forward for another hit. “She…never…did…anything…to…you!” Something sharp shot up, cutting his cheek, bits of pink spongy tissue was clinging to the brick wall, and the woman stopped moving. “SHE…WAS…JUST…A…BABY!” A final shove and the crack was loud enough to startle Thomas.
He could smell her, everywhere. Sharp and coppery. It brought Thomas back to senses and he looked down at the small woman who was slumped against the wall, her head tilted a little too far back and her eyes half open and glossed over. “Oh God…” Thomas reeled back, his stomach churning. Her body remained propped up for a moment before sliding down the wall, leaving a sticky trail.
He felt the bile raise in his throat when he saw what was left behind. Pink tissue…her hair…skin…blood…bits of bone. “Oh my God,” Thomas gave a little choked sob and knelt by her body. He reached out, gathering the dead woman into his arms. “I’m so sorry,” He gasped, rocking her like he had rocked Lucy. “I’m so sorry,”
