Hello! Since the number of individual active people on this site are sadly, slowly diminishing, I feel the need to express my feelings in a wish list (I’m bored okay)!
The Narrator of A Tell Tale Heart, by Edgar Allan Poe
Boo Radley from To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee
Cosette from Les Miserables, by Victor Hugo
ANYONE from Greek Mythology’s/Sophocles’ Antigone
The Narrator of A Tell Tale Heart, by Edgar Allan Poe
I imagine that the narrator from this story could go two ways: a genuine psychopath who pled crazy, or a genius with a conscious who pled guilty. I feel like David Tennant, the way he looked in Harry Potter or Hamlet might be a good playby. A Tell Tale Heart is my favourite story by Poe, and these days, since murder works so differently, I’d be really interested in seeing just how he killed the old man, or if he’s killed the man at all yet really.
Boo Radley from To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee
Gosh, I’d love it if Robert Duvall might be his playby, but there’s not nearly enough images of him. Actually, I sort of imagine him looking like Tom Hardy. I know I know, Tom Hardy? But just look at him in Stuart: A Life Backwards; the guy looks pretty fucking crazy just there. Obviously, Boo had some sort of social problem which led to a bit of mental illness as an adult, but he still acts like a child. Perhaps that might translate to something like severe Asperger’s in a modern environment? And what about all those messed up childhood years he had in the book. Was he still locked in a basement? Now, that’d be considered child abuse.
Cosette from Les Miserables, by Victor Hugo
I tried her and obviously failed, but I’m sure somebody else can do a better job of it. My Cosette was much to cheerful and I found it too difficult to work in the backstory that’s already set for her on this site, but I still love her and want to see somebody try her out. As for a playby, I used Diana Agron, but I’m not so sure that fits her so well. I don’t know many young, female actresses.
ANYONE from Greek Mythology’s/Sophocles’ Antigone
Seriously. Ismene or Antigone or Oedipus or Hamon or anyone really, I’m just desperate to see how any of the characters from my favourite Greek tale would translate into modern society! I love and hold all of them so highly in regards. I mean, Antigone might be considered a brat now – I did – but her headstrong, slightly selfish qualities are what ultimately made her a heroine. Ismene is always considered timid and cowardly, but in my eyes, she is simply the most normal one of all. Perhaps Ismene would be very popular, instead of look down upon in modern culture? There’s tons to go on for Oedipus, in Oedipus Rex and Oedipus at Colonus, but I love how fatherly you see he truly is in Oedipus Rex. It’d be fascinating and easily modernized, a father who loves their child with all their heart but is separate from them because of social standards and family matters. Hamon is just so clever and almost sneaky, I can sort of see him as a modern Robin Hood (in the sense of the term, of course) or some kind of charitable fake-homeless (as in he put himself on the streets and gives his actual money away or something). Probably a run away from home, which is completely unexpected to his snarky father Creon. I haven’t really any ideas for playbys… Except Thom Yorke might be awesome for, like, Hamon.
