00V. description Dressing in mostly thrift-store hand-me-downs, Roger can still easily make the style look all his own and yet, strangely fashionable at the same time. He has a few 'nice' clothes, but most of the clothes he has are years old, yet in no way does he let himself look dirty. His face was once filled out and healthy, however, the drugs and AIDS have taken their toll, but by no means does Roger look unattractive. In fact, if you were to see Roger on the street, there would be no real indication that he was sick at all, given the fact that he's a tad on the skinny side. This also comes from the fact that he rarely sees three meals a day, and is lucky if one of them is a good meal. His eyes are his most striking feature, an intense shade of blue that also hold a lot of pain behind them from everything the man has had to endure in his short time, however, this is something that Roger easily tries to hide. He has a smile that is wide and bright, infectious to almost everyone in the room. The local drug dealer in the Alphabet City has a nickname for Roger; Lover Boy, and Roger knows that this nickname is true. Roger never had lacked for woman being attracted to his good looks.
00I. overall personality Some people would see Roger Davis as an immature young man, always ready with a crude joke or a funny prank, but they'd be surprised to know that there was so much more behind this front. Most of the personality quirks that Roger has are fronts for the real person he is inside. Once you strip down all of the immature jokes and nature, there's a sensitive, brooding man underneath. Roger has had to deal with many things in his short life, and it's affected him seriously. While he used to be the life of the party, the one that always went headlong and rushed into things, after the death of April and the near-death of Mimi, it has changed him. However, the kind-hearted party boy is still there, yet hidden sometimes under the intense brooding and depression that Roger can easily fall into. Once in this state, he can be one of the most unpleasant people to be around. Also when in this situation, he can be very mean and even violent, saying every hateful thing he can to try to break people down. His fantastic way with words can be killer if he's upset. There are only a few people that can bring him out of this funk, and even then, Roger can be cruel without thinking to people that he cares about. This doesn't make him a bad person by any means; he's very emotional, and everything that Roger Davis is can easily be based on his emotions. Also, Roger has a very addictive personality, which makes him do anything in life with an intensity that few people have. Alcohol? He'll drink until he passes out. Lovers? He'll be almost obsessed with them. This problem also means that Roger has to be very careful not to get back into drugs and relapse, which is still a very real fear. Even though he has vowed to quit drugs and has been clean from Heroin and Cocaine for two years, he could easily fall back into old habits if his emotions get the better of him.
0II. strengths Kind, Funny, Outgoing, Can easily read people
III. weaknesses Mimi, Alcohol, Drugs, his ability to cut people down when angry
0IV. goals To live out a long life with Mimi (though he's pretty sure this is impossible) and to ask Mimi to marry him. Also, to make a hit record and to finally be truly and completely happy in life before he dies.
00I. notable family & friends
Mark Cohen, Thomas Collins, Maureen Johnson, Joanne Jefferson, Angel Dumott-Schunard, Mimi Marquez -- all best friends and people he trusts more than anything on the planet
Benjamin Coffin the Third -- former best friend, now unofficial sworn enemy
Anne Davis -- Mother who does not know that Roger was addicted to Heroin or has AIDS. Has not seen her son in two years, has only talked to him on the phone. Also, she does not know that April has died.
Robert Davis -- Father who Roger has not seen in about ten years.
0II. overall history For at least the first eleven years of his life, Roger Davis had the perfect life. There was no indication that he'd grow up to be the damaged man that he is now, because for eleven years he had a fantastic life. His parents weren't millionaires, but they lived comfortably and happily, or so the young boy thought. However, soon his father became distant, and his mother Anne started to suspect that her husband was cheating. The day after Roger turned twelve, his father left the house for good to life with his new girlfriend, leaving Roger confused and bitter. The young boy turned to music, which had always been his passion, and with the help of his friends, created a small band, first with the name MUTE, before later, when Roger was in 10th grade, changing the name to The Well Hungarians, a name that stuck with the band. Of course, Anne Davis tried as hard as she could to control her young son, however, Roger was more apt to be at a party or play in his band than go to school. He barely passed high school, and knew that his entire future was going to be fame and fortune, and nothing was going to stand in his way. However, Roger realised as he moved from the Bronx to the East Village that life wasn't easy, and it certainly wasn't going to be handed to him. He did, however, manage to find a small group of people to live with in an abandoned Loft, the same people that would become his best friends.
His band made a name for themselves, playing local clubs, until soon, they started playing the more well-known and popular clubs in New York City, CBGB's and The Pyramid Club to name a few. It was at the Pyramid Club that Roger Davis saw the smiling face of a young woman in the crowd. Her name was April Erikkson, and she was on vacation from California. Her parents owned a group of Hardware Stores in California, and they had sent her out to visit her Aunt in New York City. But the young girl was wild, Roger would find out, and soon, the two were inseparable. A week after meeting, April moved into the Loft with Roger. To say that their relationship was a fast one was an understatement. They moved at the speed of light, doing everything as if they'd never see tomorrow. By the time Roger had met April, he was addicted to Cocaine, and April only brought more drugs into the mix to keep them away. However, the downside of always staying awake was that they could never sleep, so one night, April suggested a new drug.
Heroin had taken a hold of both of them, grabbing them hard, and soon, they were both addicts. They managed to hide it well from the rest of the Loftmates, however, soon it was harder and harder to hide, and the two became more reckless in their usage. Their fighting got worse, fighting over paranoid jealousy, the band and their own addictions, it was more often than not that the two would be fighting. But while they fought almost violently, they made up just as passionately. April was Roger's life, his muse and his soul mate. However, April soon became distant and constantly sick, however, when he confronted her about it, she smiled and told him not to worry. They were going to try to get off drugs. They were going to try to love each other instead of hating each other all the time. They were going to be happy. The next morning, she committed suicide in their bathroom. The only words that were left on a note on the nightstand was WE HAVE AIDS.
This shifted Roger into a forced withdrawal which nearly killed him. The depression that followed about the fact that his life had now been cut short by both his use of needles and unprotected sex ate at him for 7 months until one Christmas Eve, he met a woman named Mimi Marquez. At first, Roger was distant, not wanting to let anyone in, however, Mimi broke through all the walls he tried to raise. Mimi, too, had AIDS. Mimi was a drug addict. She knew everything that he was feeling, and slowly, he let himself fall into love. The two fell hard in love, however, jealousy over Mimi's former romance with Benny was too much to bare, also with the fact that Mimi had started using heroin again after Roger had tried to get her clean, and after the near-death (OOC: Or death) of Angel, Roger found himself running off to Sante Fe. This, however, was short-lived, and Roger found himself back in New York City, unable to be away from the place or the woman that he loved. However, he arrived to find Mimi dying. He proclaimed his love for her as she died in the Loft, though was surprised and relieved to find that she was revived. He stayed by her side in the hospital, and the two are currently trying to rebuild their relationship and the time that they had missed being apart.

"I just don't understand why this is a big problem!"
He knew their situation, it wasn't like it was anything new. They had been lacking in food, save for a box of old pop tarts that Roger was sure were expired. No one had wanted to check and see, but Roger remembered that Maureen had snatched them at least three months ago.
"We're foodless. Like, we don't even have Ramen. Ramen, Mark. They practically give that shit away and we don't have enough money for that. I don't understand why this is a problem for you! You've like, suddenly grown a vagin--No! No, you know what? You haven't grown a vagina, because your girlfriend with the vagina stole a bag of Hershey's kisses two weeks ago and she didn't say anything." He sighed out from where he sat on the old worn green chair, feet propped up on the arm rest. He kicked Mark slightly in the arm with his foot. "Stop being a pussy, dude. Those people that work at the store don't even pay attention and hardly speak English. Even if they called the cops, they'd have a hell of a time trying to describe us. Like, I don't think the word 'Albino' translates into Chinese or Japanese or whatever fucking 'nese they are. So c'mon. Stop being a pussy, get your outside clothes on, and come with me to get some food before we both starve here in the Loft and leave our girlfriends boyfriendless. You know what would happen to Maureen if she was boyfriendless? She'd go out and start fucking people. And do you really want Maureen to go out and start fucking people? Riding dicks that aren't yours?" Roger asked, as if he had asked Mark a serious, life altering question. "I know I don't want to see some other dude's dick in Maureen or--or oh, my god, even worse! Do you really want to die, be a ghost, and see your girlfriend a lesbian because you didn't go with your best friend to steal. some. food?!" At every word, he nudged Mark with his foot.
"I know I don't. It's a horror that I don't want to witness. Unless the chick she's eating out is hot. And then...okay, maybe." Why was Mark acting like this? He totally didn't understand it!
"I need you because you don't do shit like this by yourself, dumbass. You gotta have a look out. Or at least moral support." Roger protested, a frown easily spreading on his face. "And we wouldn't be fucked, Mark. Stop being a Negative Nancy in this situation, okay? We're not going to get caught and you wont mess it up."
Sometimes, Roger wondered why he was Mark's best friend. They were completely different on many things, but on many things, they were the same. They could easily finish each other's thoughts if needed. "We're not going to get caught, would you stop saying that? You're putting a whole bunch of like, jewdoo voodoo on this and it's creeping me out."
When Collins was mentioned, Roger let out a sigh. "Collins has been at school for the entire day. And I'm hungry now. Collins would be the perfect man for me to go with, but he's not here, and you know what Mark? I have faith in you. And honestly? I thought you'd be totally on board with this. If anyone in this Loft would be thrilled about us saving the little to no money we have, it'd be our resident Jew."
A sigh escaped his lips and he let his feet down to the cold floor. He stood up and moved to his bedroom, pulling off the sweats that he wore to pull on jeans and a sweatshirt. "And you're whiter than Casper!"
He walked back out, dressed for the chill outside. "C'mon! Stop being a girl and just come with me. Be my moral support, Cohen."
