So this is just one of the more lax and humorus surveys I felt we should add, if you're in a silly mood and you want to get closer to your character this way. Here are the questions, the code is below it all. Answer any way you want to but try to be as descriptive as you can. This is an OOC survey. P.S. Yes, I created it myself, and it might be subject to editing...I'll try to not add too much so that you won't have to keep editing your posts.
How much do you relate to your character(s)? Why do you relate to them? Why do you not?
Why did you choose your character(s)?
Is there something you especially like about your character(s)? Something you dislike?
If you met your character(s), what would you say or do?
If you get your character(s) a gift, what would it be?
If you were having a party, would it be ideal to invite your character(s)?
Are there things your character(s) does that you don't or never would do in real life? Are there things your character(s) does that you DO in real life?
Would your parents like your character(s) if they met them?
Would your want your character(s) to back you up in a bar fight?
If you were stuck on a desert island with your character(s), do you think they'd help you out a lot or they'd be utterly useless?
What is an outfit your character(s) wouldn't be caught dead wearing? Is this a reflection on your own fashion sense?
Do you reckon your character(s) would rather die a slow painful death heroically or die a cowardly, painless death?
Does your character(s) believe in the occult, or carry any superstitions? How about you?
Is your character(s) a tree hugger? If not, how enviornmentally conscious would you say you arein comparison to your character?
Name your character's vices. Do you share any of them?
Does your character(s) have any specific fears? Do you share any of their fears?
Have you visited the hometown of your character(s)? If so did you like it there and if not, do you want to visit?
When your character(s) gets embarrassed, how do they react? Do you react similarily?
Does your character(s) like or dislike attention? Do you?
Does your character(s) find it easy or hard to trust others?
Was your character(s) the popular kid or more like the loner? Does this reflect how you were/are growing up?

Post by ÉPONINE THÉNARDIER on Apr 12, 2010 19:58:03 GMT -5
How much do you relate to your character(s)? Why do you relate to them? Why do you not?
I don't know if, on a personal level, I relate to Éponine much, because our situations are so incredibly different. I think I relate to her toughness and determination, because I've got that to an extent, too, even though I don't need to use it to survive as Éponine does. However, I don't relate to most of her moral code, potty mouth, and overall personality. But that's what's fun about roleplaying, is that you can play characters that you have nothing in common with in order to relate to them more. It's a neat little challenge.
Why did you choose your character(s)?
I'm currently eating away at the novel version of Les Mis bit by bit, and I just loved it whenever Éponine came onto the scene. I'm fascinated with how she has relationships with all these obscure people, and how she uses her mettle to survive in her harsh world despite enemies on all sides. I love the musical version of her, too, as she's sweeter and has the prettiest two songs in the whole show! On the board I play the novel version, but I really hope I get the part of Éponine when I get the chance to go for the musical in real life this summer.
Is there something you especially like about your character(s)? Something you dislike?
I like her accent, even though I'm sure most people to hear it would find it obnoxious. I like how she's trying to figure out who she is, and how she has goals for herself despite all odds. I dislike how at times she loses focus and is lazy, and she's willing to stoop to lower levels instead of trying to survive by honest means.
If you met your character(s), what would you say or do?
I'd buy her a big fat lunch, find her a place to work, and invite her to church.
If you get your character(s) a gift, what would it be?
A nice, warm coat.
If you were having a party, would it be ideal to invite your character(s)?
All my friends are weird ... but no.
Are there things your character(s) does that you don't or never would do in real life? Are there things your character(s) does that you DO in real life?
Well, she steals, lies, cusses, and is all around rude to people. That's like the anti-Sarah. However, she does state the facts, which I do, too, most of the time. She's also dedicated to maintaining her virginity, as am I. Of course, she was nearly raped, and I was, so our reasoning is different.
Would your parents like your character(s) if they met them?
Not at first. They either would warm up to her eventually or they wouldn't. It would all depend.
Would your want your character(s) to back you up in a bar fight?
Yes, definitely! She's got skills with a knife!! I'll use my fists, she'll use her blade, and we'd kick butt!
If you were stuck on a desert island with your character(s), do you think they'd help you out a lot or they'd be utterly useless?
She would help or not depending on her mood. She would be really useful if she decided she wanted to help.
What is an outfit your character(s) wouldn't be caught dead wearing? Is this a reflection on your own fashion sense?
Umm ... I don't think Éponine's really that picky!
Do you reckon your character(s) would rather die a slow painful death heroically or die a cowardly, painless death?
Well, according to the novel she dies a slow, painful death. I think my character basically sticks with that, but she wouldn't have heroism in mind.
Does your character(s) believe in the occult, or carry any superstitions? How about you?
Éponine does not carry any belief system at all. She might believe in karma, occasionally, but she does not dedicate energy to religion of any sort. I, however, am not like this at all. I am a firm believer and follower of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He has saved me and I owe everything to Him!
Is your character(s) a tree hugger? If not, how environmentally conscious would you say you are in comparison to your character?
Nope, not at all. She doesn't care a lick about any of that. I'm much more environmentally conscious just because I have the liberty of being so. I recycle and try to turn of the power when I'm not using it. I'm not perfect, though.
Name your character's vices. Do you share any of them?
Éponine is extremely rude and a bit of a brat, and her situation isn't enough to excuse that. She is disrespectful, and as I said before, a thief with little guilt. I don't share any of these specific vices. I have some of my own.
Does your character(s) have any specific fears? Do you share any of their fears?
Éponine really does not like water much, since she cannot swim, but it's not a crippling fear. She's also afraid of a gang in Kings that nearly raped her and her father getting out of prison. I can't say I actually share any of these fears!
Have you visited the hometown of your character(s)? If so did you like it there and if not, do you want to visit?
I have been to New York, but not Montfermeil, France! I really liked New York, but I didn't explore the places where Éponine usually hangs out.
When your character(s) gets embarrassed, how do they react? Do you react similarily?
Éponine will usually blow up if she gets embarrassed and blame everyone else but herself. I don't get quite as volatile as her, but I do have a habit of blaming other people when I mess up (usually with my brother).
Does your character(s) like or dislike attention? Do you?
She likes attention when it suits her to have it. If she wants to be invisible, she will make herself invisible. However, she talks a lot, probably with the intent of getting attention since she's been emotionally deprived throughout her life. I like attention, too, but I try not to go to such obnoxious lengths to get it. It might explain why I like doing stage performances, though!
Does your character(s) find it easy or hard to trust others?
She does not trust people at all. She will usually assume the worst of somebody right at the get-go, and it takes a lot of work to earn her trust.
Was your character(s) the popular kid or more like the loner? Does this reflect how you were/are growing up?
When she went to public school, she was pretty much a loner, even though people tried to be her friend. She wasn't interested in friends outside of her sister. As for me, I was on the other side of the fence. I wanted to be people's friends, and sometimes I convinced myself that I had a ton of friends. I was a bit of a teacher's pet, though, so I probably wasn't all as popular as I thought I was. >.< [/blockquote] NOT FINISHED. I WILL COME BACK TO IT

Hey Sarah, thanks for being the first ever to fill out my form I really enjoyed reading your answers! I'll have a go myself. This is a WIP, for the time being. How much do you relate to your character(s)? Why do you relate to them? Why do you not?I hardly relate to Mercutio at all. I don't relate to him because in real life I'm not a party animal, and I'm not as flirtacious and confident in my sexuality as he is. He's also very clever with word play, where it takes me ages to come up with a good comeback. Wit is not my strong suit, unless it's accidental. The only aspect related to him that I can relate to is his relationship with Romeo. I have a close friend who I hardly see anymore because he's busy being absorbed into his girlfriend, and me and my friends are often ditched by him. It hurts sometimes. With Mimi, again, can't relate at all. Don't have AIDS. Never danced for anyone. Haven't fallen in love yet. Still learning to not regret and to move forward. Why did you choose your character(s)?At the time I applied for him, I was in production for my school's version of Romeo and Juliet. I was rediscovering the play and falling in love with the characters again, specifically Benvolio and Mercutio. I considered appying for both but decided to take Mercutio as he was the biggest challenge. For Mimi, it took weeks of bouncing between Rent characters. I knew I'd have to take a Rent character because I just love the show, we used the location of that play for our board, and it was the idea of Rent that inspired this board in the first place. All the other canons came into place quickly after. Is there something you especially like about your character(s)? Something you dislike?I especially like that he's humorous and intelligent, he's also quite charismatic. But I dislike that he's so impulsive and seemingly shallow in terms of love and commitment...though it was never *explicably* said. He also can have a hypocritcal tendency...while he mocks Romeo for being so dramatic and upset, he can be just as dramatic, in different ways. For Mimi, I like that she lives each day like it's her last and takes nothing for granted. I don't admire her drug habit, but I don't judge her for it, either. If you met your character(s), what would you say or do?I'd be pretty excited. I'd want to go downtown with both Mercutio and Mimi. With Mercutio I'd want to eat out or go to a club just cause. I'd want to go shopping with Mimi - I love her style. If you get your character(s) a gift, what would it be?Mercutio: Good booze, maybe more cologne (it gets pretty sweaty up in those clubs I'd imagine). Mimi: Time in a methadone clinic. If you were having a party, would it be ideal to invite your character(s)?Mercutio: Yes and no. He'd be the life of the party, but he might be too out of control for me to handle. Mimi: YES. She'd be a great, positive source of energy and she'd encourage everyone to have fun. Are there things your character(s) does that you don't or never would do in real life? Are there things your character(s) does that you DO in real life?Lots. Mercutio dabbles in some hardcore drugs - hallucinogens such as LSD and ecstacy when he's partying, and stimulants when he's not in the mood to hallucinate. He's not big on downers. I wouldn't dare take any of those. I'm not a big partyer at all, and I value life too much to fuck it up with drugs. Mimi: Same deal with the drugs, except she abuses exclusively heroin. Also, I'd never dance at a club on a stage infront of a crowd. Would your parents like your character(s) if they met them?Mercutio: Big fat no. Dad would think he's funny, but too much. Mom would look at his drug use and partying and shake her head. Mimi: I think they'd like her for her warm personality, but they'd fear for her once they discovered her drug habit. Would your want your character(s) to back you up in a bar fight?Mercutio: Hell yes, as long as he's not under any influence and Romeo isn't there to be all pretty and distracting. He can pack a punch if he wants to. Mimi: No. While she's tough and independant, I wouldn't want to put her through that sort of tedious thing. If you were stuck on a desert island with your character(s), do you think they'd help you out a lot or they'd be utterly useless?Mercutio is smart, though I'm not sure if he's smart in this sort of way. He could probably improvise well enough to help him and me out for a bit, but I consider him to be mostly in it for himself. I suppose he'd help me if he liked me enough, or if I promised sexual favors. Mimi strikes me as a team player, she'd be with me, and we'd make it together. What is an outfit your character(s) wouldn't be caught dead wearing? Is this a reflection on your own fashion sense?Mercutio...well, he wouldn't be caught dressed as a prima dono or in anything ridiculously pompous, unless for a joke. He'd never wear rags or poor clothes, either. Mimi...would never be caught in rich clothes, simply because she doesn't have the money to afford it. She puts her money towards necessities that are often difficult for her to afford...such as heat, water, food... This is basically a reflection on my own fashion sense. I don't care to buy really expensive clothes unless I really love the outfit (and can afford it) but I do like looking nice. [n]Do you reckon your character(s) would rather die a slow painful death heroically or die a cowardly, painless death?[/b] Mercutio: Heroic, but it'd probably be more accidental. His death in the play was slow and painful. Mimi: Heroic. Does your character(s) believe in the occult, or carry any superstitions? How about you?Mercutio: Nope. He makes jokes about it, but he doesn't have many beliefs anyway. Doesn't even believe in God (well, maybe a little, but he doesn't admit it/talk about it much. He's more of an agnostic.) Mimi: *shrug* She might carry the odd one, but she doesn't put a lot of weight on them. They're just for fun in her opinion. I believe in lots of stuff. God, spirits, ghosts, superstitions. Yup. Is your character(s) a tree hugger? If not, how enviornmentally conscious would you say you arein comparison to your character?
Mercutio doesn't give a shit about that.
Mimi isn't particularily environmental but she doesn't waste anything, either.
I try to be environmentally conscious - I recycle, use compost, try to reduce the use of lights, and I never litter.
Name your character's vices. Do you share any of them?
Mercutio - Drinking, smoking, drugs, parties, and arguably sex. He's got a dirty mind on him and he's not afraid to rock and roll all night. Mimi - Heroin, drinking (though I wouldn't classify her as an alcoholic.)
I've got none of those vices.
Does your character(s) have any specific fears? Do you share any of their fears?
Mercutio: Losing Romeo, being utterly alone. Mimi: Losing Roger. At one point she feared death, but I think she's come to grips with that now.
I do share those fears.
Mercutio doesn't trust a whole lot of people. He mainly trusts Romeo and Benvolio, but he really isn't into dwelling on sad or serious topics. He keeps a lot of those demons locked up.
Was your character(s) the popular kid or more like the loner? Does this reflect how you were/are growing up?
Mercutio was definitely the popular kid, from the very start. I was always far from it, more of a loner in elementary school especially. To this day I'm not really that person who "fits in." That's okay with me.

Post by THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO on Apr 29, 2010 23:39:37 GMT -5
[Work-in-progress.] How much do you relate to your character(s)? Why do you relate to them? Why do you not?I relate to each of my charries, in different ways. I relate to MC the most. Monte Cristo and I are both fairly devious. We both have the ability to play up to people, to mold ourselves into whatever people want us to be, without losing ourselves in the process. I believe the psychological term is "self-monitoring social chameleon." What gives me trouble with him is that he is a lot more happy with himself and his station in life, and I am not. I have trouble connecting with him sometimes for this reason.
Chase and I are both well on our way to being bat-shit insane. However, he is far more laid-back and open than I am. He gets along with people easily, a quality I lack. In fact, he pretty much bests me in any aspect of social life. We get along well, though, and his openness helps me to connect with him better than I would normally. Why did you choose your character(s)?Well, when I found this site, I was in the middle of rereading The Count of Monte Cristo. Ever since I read it the first time, I've loved the Edmond/Count character. We're just so alike, except he's more awesome. The opportunity to recreate him in a modern setting, and expand on him, was too good to pass up.
I chose Chase because I like "The Raven" as well, but after studying it and various interpretations of it, I realized that my understanding of what happened is very different from the generally-accepted view of Poe's intentions. I thought bringing the narrator to life would be a great way to see whether my interpretation is plausible. Is there something you especially like about your character(s)? Something you dislike?Monte Cristo is just so damn devious. I love it. I definitely prefer darker characters, the antihero sort. There isn't much I dislike about him. He's not perfect, but I can't think of anything to complain about.
As for Chase, I love how crazy he is. I also admire his ability to get along with others. He did surprise me in how vehemently he reacted to Lenore's death, but I guess it's understandable. How much do you relate to your character(s)? Why do you relate to them? Why do you not?Well Hamlet is too calculating for his own good, so in that way I can relate sometimes. He's also a huuuge procrastinator. Granted, he procrastinates to kill someone and thats kind of a big deal lol. But I'm a big procrastinator as well Obviously I can't relate to a betrayal so close to home as he's had to deal with. And I'm not male, not rich, not business savvy. lolFor Faustus...oh boy. I don't think I can relate at all to him. LOL He's just wild and crazy and shameless. I guess he's a personification of all the kind of guys that i dislike lol. For Dally...I don't think I can relate to him either...except for this whole "mad with the world" syndrome sometimes. That's kind of merited. But for the most part I tend to stay out of trouble lolWhy did you choose your character(s)?Well when we first started on this site, Hamlet was an automatic choice for me. I just got done studying the play in class so that helped. There wasn't much thinking or reasoning involved, I just wanted to play him. lolFaustus...similarly, I was studying him and decided he would be fun to play. Dally...I eventually went with dally because we needed some Outsiders love on the board and he's a challenge for me. He's a very "real" kind of character, so playing him will be interesting. Is there something you especially like about your character(s)? Something you dislike? Hamlet...I love his elaborate planning at times. I like his "acting crazy" moments and his snarky attitude. I dislike some of that planning as well. He's a wimp, in reality lol. Too hesitant. Just stop talking and get it over with. LOLFaustus...he's shamelessly sinful, what can i say about dislikes? LOL As for likes, he's hilarious.Dally...he just can't help but put himself into trouble, and in character thats very hard to grasp. He loves looking for trouble. As for likes, he's smart and cool, and just generally badass. If you met your character(s), what would you say or do?Hamlet....probably try to go the Shakespearean tragedy route and kill Ophelia so I can have hamlet all to myself LOL (is it obvious that I think my playby is sexy? LOL)Faustus...I'd probably slap him and get as far away as possible before he does something especially silly.Dally...I dunno, I'd probably be too intimidated to talk to him. LOLIf you get your character(s) a gift, what would it be?Hamlet...a stress ball. Because like...seriously. He needs it. LOLFaustus...I don't even know. lol he pretty much takes what he wants. Dally...he just needs someone who loves him and cares enough to tell him something straight, and won't put up with his mess.If you were having a party, would it be ideal to invite your character(s)?Harry...I think he does pretty alright at a party as long as he feels the need not to go crazy, he can do well. He might get carried away with the alcohol though.Faustus...I would never invite him lol. He'd cause so much trouble lolDally...I think he'd do ok at a party. I feel he'd cause the kind of trouble that would make the party even better...for the time being, that is lolAre there things your character(s) does that you don't or never would do in real life? Are there things your character(s) does that you DO in real life? Hamlet...I wouldn't try and kill some one, even if I was in his situation lol. I probably wouldn't fall in love so easily either. And I probably would act crazy in front of people because...well, I probably wouldn't be very good at it. But he does appreciate the arts and its ability to see into the truth of things so going to shows and stuff I'd do. Over thinking things...I do that too.Faustus...yeah he's completely opposite of me so I would like to say I probably wouldn't do many of the things he's done. LOL I mean yes I've envied and lusted and did most of those "sins" in a less extreme level lolDally...I wouldn't get into as much mess as he has done. Wouldn't just carry around a gun willy nilly. I've probably gone on a "fun" trouble making rampages like sneaking into things and stuff like that. Would your parents like your character(s) if they met them?My parents probably would like Hamlet on the surface...but ultimately no. Definitely not Dally and Faustus for obvious reasons lol Would your want your character(s) to back you up in a bar fight?Okay I think all of my guys can hold their own in a fight. Harry, depending on what he's fighting for, can do damage. He'd be more strategic with it though. Faustus would go ape shit on someone (but it probably wouldn't be for ME, so I don't know. It'll be probably for himself lol)... and Dally....he's just no joke. He'd kill someone (possibly literally). If you were stuck on a desert island with your character(s), do you think they'd help you out a lot or they'd be utterly useless?Harry...he'd be a GREAT help. He's really smart when it comes right down to it. Very strategic. His sarcasm would probably drive me nuts though.Faustus...absolutely useless. Ok not absolutely. He'd at least knew his medical stuff, but he probably wouldn't save me if I was hurt lol...especially if it meant his own livelihood. Dally...definitely, great help. He's just really resourceful and smart when it comes to self preservation. What is an outfit your character(s) wouldn't be caught dead wearing? Is this a reflection on your own fashion sense?
Oh, I don't know. Harry is very conscientious about his appearance, being a business man and all so I don't think he'd be caught dead in...anything sloppy...anything extremely preppy either. lol Anything too...colorful LOL Faustus wouldn't be caught dead in anything preppy either. Dally wouldn't be caught dead in anything preppy, "Soc"-like, anything that Vince Noir would wear lolDo you reckon your character(s) would rather die a slow painful death heroically or die a cowardly, painless death?Harry...definitely a painful heroic death, for reasons already played out in the canon lolFaustus...QUICK PAINLESS! Definitely. He really probably wants to live forever.Dally....definitely painful and heroically, definitely not a wimpy death. As far as me...quick and painless please and thank you lol Does your character(s) believe in the occult, or carry any superstitions? How about you? Harry...not really. Faustus...YES. Most definitely. thats in the works as far as plotting goes for him. Dally...no, not really on his radar.
Me, definitely not. Is your character(s) a tree hugger? If not, how enviornmentally conscious would you say you arein comparison to your character?Harry...he's too wrapped up in his personal problems. lol Maybe before all the crap happened to him he did his part and gave some financial to support to some environmental organizations, per his father's good influence.Faustus...doesn't give a shit. lolDally....doesn't give a shit. lolMe...I care a lot about so I'm probably closer to Harry. Name your character's vices. Do you share any of them?Harry...he's a bit over-calculating as I said earlier, and i share that. With that, he can get irrational in his attempts to be rational. Faustus..ok, I'm not gonna go down that list lolDally...he's a trouble maker, someone who doesn't know what else to do but lash out. I've never been a real trouble maker, so I can't exactly relate to the rebellion thing lolDoes your character(s) have any specific fears? Do you share any of their fears?Harry...actually I think Harry does fear death. He has this looming feeling that death is only a matter of time for him and he's just a moment away from it. Sometimes I do have that fear on a smaller scale. Faustus...Deep down, I think he's afraid of what's going to happen to him AFTER he dies...because he's just too far gone. I cant say I have that fear exactly.Dally...he's afraid that something will happen to the only people he invests in...like Cade. Afraid that his life will be rattled so much, too much, like it did when he was sent off to jail. And yes I share those fears.Have you visited the hometown of your character(s)? If so did you like it there and if not, do you want to visit?Well for all three of my characters on this site...its NYC, so no, I haven't been there When your character(s) gets embarrassed, how do they react? Do you react similarily?Harry...he'd probably be cool about it, not take it as such a big deal, depending on what it is. I'd go this route as well.Faustus, he'd probably go off on anyone who laughed...not my ideal reaction lolDally....probably not too far off from the above reaction lolDoes your character(s) like or dislike attention? Do you?Harry...yes, in a way. I'm sure he used to. But now, any attention he gets is supposed to be strategic and usually bad attention lolFaustus...Definitely. He lives for it lol. It feeds his ego.Dally...yes i think he likes attention, basically all he does is for attention...just in the wrong manner. Me, I definitely don't like attention. lol Does your character(s) find it easy or hard to trust others? Harry...he thinks everything is a conspiracy against him set up by his uncle, so I'd say its pretty hard lol. Faustus...I think he's always misusing people's trust, so it doesn't matter much him.Dally...yes definitely. He's very closed off and cold. Me, I can trust people but I'm reasonably wary lol Was your character(s) the popular kid or more like the loner?Does this reflect how you were/are growing up?Harry...he was popular simply being the heir of Hamlet Enterprises.Faustus...he was in the middle, not a loner, but not necessarily the popular kid.Dally...I think he was a loner.
Me...i was a loner, and it made me hate High school but love college due to having some emotional solidarity and independence

That was fun! XD And I promise I'll get on some real-posting ASAP; lol. ^^ How much do you relate to your character? Why do you relate to her? Why do you not?Me and Rosa are tight, yo. XD Um, the big difference between Rosa and me is the naivety. She's really naive and tries to believe everyone has good intentions and the world is all sugar and sunshine and puppies and kittens. I'm just a tad bit more realistic, while not yet cynical or anything. However, we both try to keep a happy smile on our faces at all times. We both hate confrontation but where Rosa avoids it all costs, I'm usually pretty good about speaking my mind if I need to... Rosa has a big thing about not disappointing people, particularly her family, which is why she tends to keep the mask of a happy face on. I'm similar in that way as well. Why did you choose your character?Well, it was between Rosa here and Sodapop Curtis and I couldn't think of a good PlayBy for Soda (other than Rob Lowe, of course) so I went for Rosa. XD But honestly, I have always been drawn to the character of Rosaline because she's such an enigma. She's basically the catalyst of Romeo and Juliet yet she's a non-speaking character. I've kind of wondered what she would be like, why Romeo was infatuated with her and if she returned the feelings and, if she did, how she felt about her cousin running off with the Montague Golden Boy. Is there something you especially like about your character? Something you dislike? I love, love, love Rosa's sunny demeanor. She's a ball of freaking happiness which is refreshing to write if you're not in a good moof and just plain fun if you're happy to start with. ^^ It's her inability to stick up for herself that bothers me a little just because I'm kind of different in that respect. If you met your character, what would you say or do?I imagine there would be a lot of singing and dancing and laughing and giggling over Benvolio (He's a favorite of mine too. XD). Then I'd probably ask to see her sketches and ask her to teach me how to draw well as she does and then we'd have a grand old time. If you get your character a gift, what would it be?It would either be a new set of charcoals or a pretty dress. If you were having a party, would it be ideal to invite your character?Hmmm, depends on the type of party. Were it one of my usual comfortable, low-key, "let's just hang out and have easy fun together" kind of affairs then yes, definitely. Rosa is all about breezy, good times. If it were something more along the lines of a high-end, upscale soiree then Rosa would certainly fit in and be presentable but probably wouldn't enjoy herself much. And lastly, a drunken, wild and crazy parrr-tay would not suit Rosa at all. She's definitely not one to go all out like that. Are there things your character does that you don't or never would do in real life? Are there things your character does that you DO in real life?Well, she got into The Cooper Union which I would just kill to do. XD But aside from that... She lets people boss her around/talk down to her a lot which I don't usually do. Rosa also has a tendancy to take things terribly personally which I don't do at all. Would your parents like your character if they met them?Any parent would love Rosaline. She's respectufl to a fault and doesn't like to get into trouble. She hates to drink and party and all that. The only thing my parents would have a problem with would be her romantic tendancies and daydreamy quality. Would you want your character to back you up in a bar fight? Noooo, not at all! Rosaline would just try to calm everyone down and then run when things got bad and physical. XD She would be useless in any sort of physical fight. If you were stuck on a desert island with your character, do you think she'd help you out a lot or she'd be utterly useless? She might not be a great help at finding food, building shelter, etc. But she would certainly keep up morale. Rosa would go out of her way to make sure we never gave up hope and kept trying to survive/be rescued. What is an outfit your character wouldn't be caught dead wearing? Is this a reflection on your own fashion sense?Anything "heavy," dark or sloppy. Rosa likes to be put-together at all times and gravitates toward a more feminine style in general. I'm rather ecclectic in my fashion, definitely low-key though. I'm more about comfort and definitely not into skirts most of the time, unlike Rosa. Over all, she's got more style than me and dresses more like a girl than me. XD Do you reckon your character would rather die a slow painful death heroically or die a cowardly, painless death?Hmmm, well Rosa would die a painful, messy death if she was doing so to save a friend or family member. Otherwise, she doesn't really put herself into the situation of dying anything else but painlessly. She's not a daredevil or reckless, really. I see her dying somewhat tragically, publically; not naturally. But that's just pure imagination on my part. =) Does your character believe in the occult, or carry any superstitions? How about you?Rosa isn't really religious or spiritual at all. She believes in something greater but isn't quite sure what that is. As for superstitions, she announces them often ("Find a penny, pick it up, all day long you have good luck!") but doesn't believe they carry any cosmic weight or anything. Is your character(s) a tree hugger? If not, how environmentally conscious would you say you are in comparison to your character?Ehh, Rosaline's kinda ambivalent on that whole issue. She's really in touch with her feelings and enjoys being outdoors, but she carries no other "hippy-dippy" vibes. I'm about the same. I'm all for preserving the Earth for future generations, and I'll recycle and turn off lights/faucets when I'm not using them. I just won't be painting any picket signs or writing any songs in the near future. I'm not trying to start a revolution, well, you know... Name your character's vices. Do you share any of them?Rosaline's biggest vices are gelato, pretty boys, old movies and her art. I say these are her vices in that she over-indulges in them and can't resist them. I share all of them except art (I enjoy it well enough but not to the same degree that Rosa does) and gelato. I'm a Klodike Bar kinda gal, myself. Does your character have any specific fears? Do you share any of her fears?Rosaline's biggest fear is to disappoint her family; it's basically the foundation of her entire characterization. She's terrified that she'll do something that displeases her family and then they'll never want to speak to her again and she'll be disowned and then she'll be all alone. I don't share this fear at all really; me and my family are pretty chill. XD Have you visited the hometown of your character? If so did you like it there and if not, do you want to visit?I have in fact visited New York City. I pretty much love it there. It's not my favorite major American metropolitan, but it's definitely second. I love the energy and noise and movement and atmosphere and the... Jess, I need to get to NYC for another visit soon... When your character gets embarrassed, how does she react? Do you react similarly?Hmm, well that depends. If it's something minor and rather insignificant, Rosaline will generally just blush and laugh it off. If someone embarrasses her out of malice or if she's truly humiliated, Rosaline will most likely run off, burst into tears and end up crying in a bathroom or under her covers. She's sensitive that way. Me, I'll just blush and laugh and then vent to a friend later about how mortified I was, if need be. Does your character like or dislike attention? Do you?Rosaline generally abhors being the center of attention. She gets all nervous and afraid that she'll mess something up in front of all those people. She doesn't mind having attention on her though, a single person's that is; such as being taken care of. I'm the opposite. XD I'm a total attention-whore. I love having an audience and entertaining them. Does your character find it easy or hard to trust others?Rosaline trusts in others entirely too easily. She believes that all things/peoples are basically good at heart and acts upon that accordingly, putting confidence in people who don't always deserve it. Was your character the popular kid or more like the loner? Does this reflect how you were/are growing up?Rosaline always had a large amount of cousins surrounding her so she never had any need for other friends. She made quite a few though; from her easy-going, no conflict demeanor --she gets along with just about everyone. She has never been a "queen-bee" type though as she would hate the attention and having others following her. I'm basically the same as Rosa there. I get along with all the different groups of friends (we don't really have "cliques," just groups of friends that tend to hang out with each other rather than others) without much conflict or rank.

How much do you relate to your character(s)? Why do you relate to them? Why do you not? Joanne and I have a lot in common, and its too much to really explain here. So I'll just let you read the rest of the answers and decide for yourself how much. I guess I relate to Joanne because we have so much in common. Our interests are fairly similar, although I am much more loose cannon than Joanne could ever be. When I discovered the character, I just had a certain insight into her mind, a connection to the way she seems to think and feel, and so decided that if ever the RP came around, I'd try her out. So, here is that RP and here I am. And well, there are obvious reasons why I don't relate to Joanne. Our personalities are radically different in some ways, she's a lesbian (i'm straight), she's a lawyer (i'm not), and she lives in New York (i've only vacationed there).
That's all I can think of for now. Why did you choose your character(s)? Well first off, I love the character of Joanne in both the play and the movie Rent. My pb, Tracie Thoms, is one of my favorite actresses, and so naturally I enjoyed her performances of the character. Plus, I suppose of all the Rent characters I related to her the most. That and I'm too creative to enjoy the politics of being a lawyer and so gave up on that dream career, so playing Joanne is a way I can let my lawyer side out. I thought of something else too: Joanne's the odd man out in the group. Which I sorta relate to. Is there something you especially like about your character(s)? Something you dislike? Well, for starters I really love the fact that she's a lawyer, because that was one of my dream jobs. I also enjoy her sense of style... if only I could get my hands on Armani and Dolce... Pluse, Joanne just has this "I have to help people" quality about her that is just so cool to me. Now, the biggest thing I have to say I dislike about Joanne is her jealousy. I am not a jealous person by nature. Certain things might bring out that territorial part all humans have, but I'm not irrational about it. Joanne can be pretty irrational. If you met your character(s), what would you say or do? Well it'd go something like this.
First, the fangirl freak out (it is important, dont forget this step) Then, the eyeball search for Mo. (as would have my luck, Maureen wouldn't be around) Next comes the obvious leer (because Joanne is just the kind of person you stare at for an obnoxiously long time) Finally, I go into coolsville mode and say "Hey Jo. How's life?" (because I have to ensure she forgets the weird fangirlness and the stare)
Yep, it'd be a major dork moment. If you get your character(s) a gift, what would it be? You know, I don't really know. What do you buy for the person who has nearly unlimited access to everything because she's freakin rich? It'd be something simple like a card that I wrote myself... or something I made... You know, something money couldn't get. If you were having a party, would it be ideal to invite your character(s)? Uh yeah... Close on "Joanne at the party after the Over The Moon protest" She was partying hard. Once you loosen her up a bit, she's fun to have around. Are there things your character(s) does that you don't or never would do in real life? Are there things your character(s) does that you DO in real life? Things Jo does that I don't do... Well, I don't make it habit of making out with chicks... Too bad for Jo, I'm straight.
Things Jo does that I do... Hang out with musical theatre nerds, filmmakers, dancers, and rockers (ironically, that about describes my friends, a huge group of performers) and the obvious list making in my sleep (yes, its true, I am guilty of doing that). Oh yes, there is also the wearing a tie thing. (i make it a point to throw in a tie every time I've got on something it will look awesome with) Would your parents like your character(s) if they met them? Yeah, my mom would like Jo. A lot. Would your want your character(s) to back you up in a bar fight? Haha! No... I'd want her to come bail me out of jail once I got thrown in. If you were stuck on a desert island with your character(s), do you think they'd help you out a lot or they'd be utterly useless? Oh yeah, she'd be useful... a pain in the arse maybe, but a useful pain. I'd hear a lot of "I went to Harvard for this?!" What is an outfit your character(s) wouldn't be caught dead wearing? Is this a reflection on your own fashion sense? Um... Maureen's leather catsuit? and yes, that is a reflection because while I will wear leather... full catsuit... highly impossible. Do you reckon your character(s) would rather die a slow painful death heroically or die a cowardly, painless death? Heroic death. For all her denial of that limelight love, Joanne likes to be the hero. Does your character(s) believe in the occult, or carry any superstitions? How about you? Joanne is doing good to believe in God. She deals in absolutes mostly, and anything beyond the black and white doesn't compute well in her mind. No wonder she has relationship issues. That's one of the places she and I differ. My faith is very important to me, although I have my moments where science makes more sense, so yeah I'm a believer that there's something beyond this human existence. Is your character(s) a tree hugger? If not, how enviornmentally conscious would you say you arein comparison to your character? I'd say we're about the same. Do I recycle every piece of paper I touch? No. But I try to be environmentally conscious. I really like plants and I try to reuse stuff as often as I can. Jo's pretty much the same way. Name your character's vices. Do you share any of them? The two vices we share: arguing and tea. I love to argue for the sake of doing so and I love tea. Joanne argues and gets paid for it, and tea is her way of relaxing. Does your character(s) have any specific fears? Do you share any of their fears? Joanne's biggest fear is of being unwanted. That's why she clings so hard to Maureen, because she loves her and she wants Maureen to love her back. It's a weird sort of drive to be needed that she has, her secret need to help people that makes her react in the crazy ways she does to certain things. I have to say I'd share that fear. Nobody wants to be abandoned you know... and for Joanne, failure will result in being abandoned. It goes back to those words again, mommy and daddy always reprimanding her with "dont be an embarrassment." I can totally relate (not to the parent part, but the desire to never fail.) Have you visited the hometown of your character(s)? If so did you like it there and if not, do you want to visit? I've never been to Rochester, but I'm been to NYC, and I enjoyed it there. I'd only live there for Broadway, but it's a cool place to vacation. When your character(s) gets embarrassed, how do they react? Do you react similarily? Ha! Joanne is a rawr hiss grrr angry face person when she gets embarrassed. I'm more of a haha, shy, bright red blush person when I'm embarrassed. Does your character(s) like or dislike attention? Do you? She'll be mad at me for saying this, but Joanne doesn't just like attention. She loves attention. She like to hide her love of the limelight, but when it comes down to it, Joanne enjoys being shown. I guess maybe it comes from that whole "You've got mommy and daddie's names, dont be an embarrassment." When your parents are the top dogs of politics and law, you've got a heavy image to live up to baring their names. Joanne doesn't enjoy disappointing people, and that also makes her crave attention more. Like most human beings, Joanne's just looking for love. She just goes about it in strange ways.
Now, as far as I am concerned, I like attention, but only certain types. I'm more of an intimate individual, and I like personal attention. Bright lights and things don't matter much to me. Just acknowledge my effort and really mean it, and I'm pretty much satisfied. I have my limelight dreams, but they are rare and I can survive without them. Does your character(s) find it easy or hard to trust others? On the surface she pretty much trusts anyone, but once that trust is broken it is really really difficult to get back. Problem is, Joanne's perception of what trust is just isn't exactly the standard. Things that other people would forget about she remembers, and things other people would remember she tries to forget. Was your character(s) the popular kid or more like the loner? Does this reflect how you were/are growing up? Jo and I are definitely more like the loner. We don't always relate to other people well, and had trouble really identifying with our emotions, which can make relationships really struggle, and they often do. Still, we both manage to find our niche in the most unlikely places, for example a group of vagabond Bohemians struggling to make it in the center of the universe.

[WIP]
How much do you relate to your character(s)? Why do you relate to them? Why do you not?
Why did you choose your character(s)?
A combination of things, really, not least that when I polled the cbox when I was first debating joining, Randi strongly encouraged me to take him. I've liked his character for ages, though; I always thought Romeo and Juliet didn't give him enough time onstage. Yes, I get that attached to minor characters. (That's why I'm determined my next character will be from Les Miserables. I almost picked Joly instead of Benvolio, but in the end I gave Ben's character my favorite aspects of Joly.)
Is there something you especially like about your character(s)? Something you dislike?
If you met your character(s), what would you say or do?
I'd probably be tempted to give him a hug.
If you get your character(s) a gift, what would it be?
If you were having a party, would it be ideal to invite your character(s)?
Since my kind of party isn't the wild, "let's go out and commit heinous acts of vandalism and do drugs" sort that he wildly disapproves of, sure, why not?
Are there things your character(s) does that you don't or never would do in real life? Are there things your character(s) does that you DO in real life?
Would your parents like your character(s) if they met them?
They'd love him; he just so responsible.
Would your want your character(s) to back you up in a bar fight?
Haha, definitely not. Ben would be useless in a bar fight, unless he managed to talka bunch of drunk people down.

How much do you relate to your character(s)? Why do you relate to them? Why do you not?I can relate to Ponyboy best out of all the characters in the Outsiders, but more personality-wise than situation-wise. As in, we both have a very active imagination, love to daydream, love to read, overthink things sometimes, quiet around strangers, likes English, etc etc. But he's in a pressured situation in which he HAS to conform or his safety is threatened. And he's different in his group.
Me, though, I live in a community where you can be anyone you want to be (However cliched that sounds) without being judged. I can be friends with whoever, not having to worry about sticking to a tightly-knit group. On the other hand, though, I do envy Pony's absolutely loyal gang-- people you can count on with your life.
And, he likes movies more than I do. Why did you choose your character(s)?For a couple of reasons, the biggest one being I just love Pony to death, lol. And, as said above, I can portray his character the best. It comes most naturally to me. And the other reasons are things like, he's the one who thinks a lot instead of says, which I tend to do in writing any character. Is there something you especially like about your character(s)? Something you dislike?I love everything about him mentioned above, but especially that he has that hopeful, idealistic, dreamy, I-can-change-the-world quality to him. It's something that I'd love to have, but even though I'm a little younger than him, those thoughts are only distant hopes, lol. Probably because has has everything to gain and hardly anything to lose in life and I'm not exactly needy that way. And as for things I dislike about him... Probably the fact that he's not fast to realize things about other people. (Perfect example: Darry.) But not much besides that. If you met your character(s), what would you say or do?I would be absolutely awed at first, and definitely speechless. Then I'd ask him something totally fangirl-ish and irrelevant, like, "I love your name." LOL. Only if I get past the fact that I'm meeting my favourite character of all time would I start asking him a million questions.
If you get your character(s) a gift, what would it be?The Outsiders. ;D Nah, just kidding. But probably a book or a paint set. (Realistically. Unrealistically, I'd give him his parents back, and his vision of the "perfect world".) If you were having a party, would it be ideal to invite your character(s)?Well, he'd probably just stand in the corner, not really talking to anyone. He wouldn't really be having too much fun unless you invite someone else from the gang along, too. So it wouldn't be ideal, but it wouldn't mess up the party either. He's not really that kind of greaser. Are there things your character(s) does that you don't or never would do in real life? Are there things your character(s) does that you DO in real life?Given his circumstances, Ponyboy has to do things like carry blades for self defence; be very careful around police; etc. To be honest, I don't even know what it would feel like to have to live in constant tension. And also, he smokes. I don't. There are things he does that I do too, though-- Things like taking out the garbage, making dinner, that kind of thing. And I also, uh, "don't think" as much as I could. So his Darry-situations are almost identical to mine. Would your parents like your character(s) if they met them?Definitely not at first. One glance at how he looks and who he hangs out with would send my parents into a lecture about "bad friends" and the like in a second. They'd have to know him for a very long time to even come close to liking him, and even then be very wary of his "possible influences" on me. My mom would hate his smoking habit too, as well as being annoyed by his tendency to daydream. Would your want your character(s) to back you up in a bar fight?I would, definitely. He wouldn't like the fighting, but he'd probably be a lot of help in those kinds of situations. I've never been in a fight in my life, so... I'd need all the help I could get. All hypothetically, of course. If you were stuck on a desert island with your character(s), do you think they'd help you out a lot or they'd be utterly useless?I think he'd have his moments of extreme helpfulness and brilliant ideas, but most of the time he'd simply sit there, pretending we weren't in this situation in the first place. I wouldn't be surprised if he even forgot where he really was sometimes. He'd rather let his imagination take him away... which wouldn't make him the best survivor on a desert island. What is an outfit your character(s) wouldn't be caught dead wearing? Is this a reflection on your own fashion sense?Ponyboy pretty much wears whatever he can get, really. If he had the choice, though, I think he'd shy away from bright, noticable colours and strange clothes that make it impossible to blend in. Is this a reflection on my own fashion sense? Well, I guess so. I tend to choose milder/darker colours in clothing too, and nothing too different from others. But really, I don't have much of a fashion sense at all, lol. Do you reckon your character(s) would rather die a slow painful death heroically or die a cowardly, painless death? It would depend on what counts as "heroically". If the heroic choice would save someone he cared about, he'd choose that. And he wouldn't think too much about it either, because that would mean he'd never be able to make a decision. Or he might choose a "heroic" death just because of something from a favourite book or movie. Does your character(s) believe in the occult, or carry any superstitions? How about you?He probably thinks about that kind of thing sometimes, but wouldn't really believe it. And me? Well, my superstitions, if you can even call them that, are totally superficial and don't go much further than seriously wishing on a birthday cake or a star every now and then. Is your character(s) a tree hugger? If not, how enviornmentally conscious would you say you are in comparison to your character? No, Pony has enough stuff to deal with without worrying about nature 24/7, too. And not to mention, the gang already tease him enough about too many things-- he doesn't need to add "tree-hugging" to the list. I'm at about the same level, I think. Though I can have an occasional burst of eco-friendliness. Name your character's vices. Do you share any of them? His vices would probably be constantly forgetting to use common sense, having trouble living in the real world, lying automatically, stubbornness, and bottling things in too much. I admit to sharing the first, second, and fourth ones. Does your character(s) have any specific fears? Do you share any of their fears? He's afraid of losing/being separated from the only family he has left, though he'd definitely pick the latter over the former. He's also scared of the Socs, though on a completely different scale. I, thankfully, don't need to worry about these two things, and my fears are more of the petty kind compared to his-- as in, bugs and zombies, lol. Pony's fears are infinitely more genuine. Have you visited the hometown of your character(s)? If so did you like it there and if not, do you want to visit?I've never visited either his hometown in the canon material, Tulsa, or the Rewritten City version, NYC. But I'd LOVE to visit Tulsa. Sort of like a dream vacation for me. And if I ever visit New York City, I'll have some material to work with, now won't I? ;D Oh, how I love obsessing over a book. When your character(s) gets embarrassed, how do they react? Do you react similarily?Ponyboy would react by turning severely red at the ears and not meeting anyone's eyes, as proven in the book. I think he'd slouch a little, too, out of the embarrassment. But for some reason, my face doesn't ever get red, unless it's because of heat or extreme exertion. So when I get embarrassed, I just pretend otherwise, laugh along with everyone, and it's hard to tell even if you've known me for years. Does your character(s) like or dislike attention? Do you?I think we both dislike attention, he slightly more than me. He hates being in the spotlight, because it makes him feel self-conscious about everything, and I don't exactly LIKE attention because it makes everything that much more awkward. Does your character(s) find it easy or hard to trust others? It's definitely not easy for him to trust someone new, but he has lifelong friends that he knows he can depend on, too. Compared to someone like Dally, though, he's probably a lot more open-- He's just quiet, and it takes a while to build his trust. Was your character(s) the popular kid or more like the loner? Does this reflect how you were/are growing up?Sort of in the middle. He's quiet, which means not many people know him, but those who do tend to like him. That is, if they look past his financial situation and his appearance. Pony needs alone time to function properly, though, and enjoys just sitting by himself sometimes. Those who know him know he's not ignoring you when he does that-- he simply needs time to think. I guess I'm similar in some of these ways too, but I'm more of the kind of person who nobody hates but is nobody's "best friend" either. And of course, though I'm pretty likeable (I think) overall, I have some quirks that some people might find irritating also. (Ex: Mentioning the Outsiders in every possible situation)

How much do you relate to your character(s)? Why do you relate to them? Why do you not?
There are several ways I can relate to Mark. He hides in his work, trying to ignore everything going on around him. I'm guilty of this quite a lot. We both let our friends get away with more then they probably should. Both of us consider our friends our family, and our own family slightly annoys us although we love them. We were both born in small towns, and can't wait to leave. Mark's already accomplished this, I unfortunately am still in the small town. The ways we don't relate are that I don't hide my emotions, instead I just get them into the open. He is Jewish, and I'm Christian. I am way more violent then Mark could ever be. Also, Mark's a straight edge. I'm not.
Why did you choose your character(s)?
I love Mark. I can write very well with him, and... he's... Mark. He's my adorable baby. Is there something you especially like about your character(s)? Something you dislike?
I dislike that he's so secretive about some things. It makes it hard to really get a feel for him in the movie. I love how he's so calm and collected, and he'll be the rock of his friends even if he's breaking.
If you met your character(s), what would you say or do?
Hug him, cling, and never let go. I'd follow him until he got annoyed, and be all "Where's Roger? Where's Roger? Where's Roger? Oh! Oh! I love you!"
If you get your character(s) a gift, what would it be?
A house, so he doesn't keep having to pay rent. The cure for AIDs so he doesn't have to lose his friends. And a girlfriend (coughs) so his doesn't have to keep with the "mucho masturbation"
If you were having a party, would it be ideal to invite your character(s)?
He'd be all awkward at first, but I think he'd gradually calm down, get drunk, and get fun. I mean, he hangs out with Collins and Roger. He has to have SOME party in him.
Are there things your character(s) does that you don't or never would do in real life? Are there things your character(s) does that you DO in real life?
Not really for the "would never do" side. The only thing I can think of is that he doesn't let himself cry over deaths. I cry. A lot. In real life, I am an artist (like him) although in a different way.
Would your parents like your character(s) if they met them?
Probably, but at the same time they wouldn't approve cause he's an artist.
Would your want your character(s) to back you up in a bar fight?
No. Mark would just be all quiet.
If you were stuck on a desert island with your character(s), do you think they'd help you out a lot or they'd be utterly useless?
They'd try to help, but I think in the end we'd end up failing and just end up trying to make funny hats out of coconuts.
What is an outfit your character(s) wouldn't be caught dead wearing? Is this a reflection on your own fashion sense?
Probably... lingerie? Aha, no. Mark will wear pretty much anything. I'm much more picky.
Do you reckon your character(s) would rather die a slow painful death heroically or die a cowardly, painless death?
I think he's already started his slow, painful death >.>
Does your character(s) believe in the occult, or carry any superstitions? How about you?
Indeed he does not.
Is your character(s) a tree hugger? If not, how enviornmentally conscious would you say you arein comparison to your character?
Not really. He's a part time anarchist.
Name your character's vices. Do you share any of them?
He doesn't have many... smoking pot occasionally and drinking?
Does your character(s) have any specific fears? Do you share any of their fears?
Being alone. And yes.
Have you visited the hometown of your character(s)? If so did you like it there and if not, do you want to visit?
No, and not really. I'd much rather his adopted town.
When your character(s) gets embarrassed, how do they react? Do you react similarily?
They blush and get all quiet. I do too. I think it's a normal reaction.
Does your character(s) like or dislike attention? Do you?
I think it's a bit of both. He secretly wants to be adored and for people to pay attention to him, but at the same time he doesn't like feeling all awkward. I love attention.
Does your character(s) find it easy or hard to trust others?
Very, very, hard.
Was your character(s) the popular kid or more like the loner? Does this reflect how you were/are growing up?
He was a loner. He was labeled a nerd early on and kept that title throughout his life. And I live in a town where everyone knows everyone, so even the popular kids are kinda friends with the loners.

*stealing Yolsy's idea and having them color coded by character*
Erik
Sebastian
Damien
How much do you relate to your character(s)? Why do you relate to them? Why do you not?
For Erik, I relate to him in that he's a loner, and doesn't have many friends. He appreciates beauty in a way that most people don't, and I do to. I don't relate to him because he's f****** insane (pardon the language XD). He could kill people if he wanted to.
For Sebastian, I relate to him because he's a bit depressed and melancholy. All he wants is to feel happy and to find love. I don't relate to him in that he's very logical, almost too logical. And I hate science. XD
For Damien, its veeeery hard to relate to him. I suppose I relate to him in that I don't like my family at all, and wished I could get away from him. I don't relate to him in that he's also insane, like Erik.
Why did you choose your character(s)?
I chose Erik mostly because I'm in love with the Phantom of the Opera. The fandom is my entire life. I eat sleep live and breathe it. Erik is my favorite fictional character of all time... There's just so much I love about him that I can't even explain.
This one has a story behind him. I had no idea originally who I wanted as my second. But at the time of creating him, I had just read The Time Machine by HG Wells. Also at that time, I had just watched the movie I Love You, Philip Morris. I immediately fell in love with Ewan McGregor's character, and thusly based Sebastian partly off him. I wanted to play the Time Traveler because I loved his personality. He was a quiet guy who got very excited about science and his inventions, but when he realized what the inventions showed him were too painful to bear, he became somber and melancholy. I hope I captured that well with this character.
For Damien, I had a hard time choosing him. For starters, I've never read either version of the play Faust. I'd only seen the opera. But I loved it, and it had to do a little bit with Phantom. I knew the character well, and even researched him further to get a good grasp on him. Another first choice for a third was the Greek Goddess Nyx, but she fell through.
Is there something you especially like about your character(s)? Something you dislike?
I especially love EVERYTHING about this man. But maybe that's because I'm bias. I've been obsessed with Phantom for a long time, so that comes with fangirling age. There's really nothing I DON'T like about this man. That would seem weird, as he has many MANY faults, but I love them all. Even the murderous side of him, because I know why he does it. I guess you could say I know everything there is to know about him, inside and out, so nothing really shocks me about what he does. He just... Does.
Sebastian... Oh, where to begin about Sebastian? Just to be clear, I love absolutely everything about him as well. He's the best character I've ever created. The only thing I don't like about him is him being logical and scientific, as its hard to write.
Damien... I hate how much of an asshole he is to everyone. But I love his snarky sense of humour.
If you met your character(s), what would you say or do?
Erik.... Erik... I'd... I'd marry him. *is not kidding*
For Sebastian, I would hug him. VERY HARD. And I would end up crying telling him how much I love him, not in the romantic sense, but in the motherly sense.
.... I'd probably slap Damien in the face. XD
If you get your character(s) a gift, what would it be?
A nose... And skin pigment.
No visions for a year! YAAAAY! ^^
A better pillow to sleep on. He seems like he gets up on the wrong side of the bed every day.
If you were having a party, would it be ideal to invite your character(s)?
No. Definitely not. He hates parties.
YES! But I would make sure he's not uncomfortable.
Phfff, Damien's a party animal! Of course!
Are there things your character(s) does that you don't or never would do in real life? Are there things your character(s) does that you DO in real life?
I don't kill people, and I don't go insane on them. I do love to listen and watch operas, and I have a lot of Erik's hobbies.
I probably wouldn't have the guts to do what he does every day with saving people. More power to him. I do read comic books and watch old movies, and listen to 80's music. But for the comic books, I mostly read Japanese ones. I DEFINTELY don't watch Star Trek.
Pretty much everything he does I don't do.
Would your parents like your character(s) if they met them?
I'm just going to say NO for all my characters. Though they might like Seb if they didn't know he was gay.
Would you want your character(s) to back you up in a bar fight?
My Erik muse thinks I'm annoying as hell, so he probably wouldn't anyway. If he did like me, yes, because he's scary as sh*t and is super strong.
Maybe... He's not that strong though.
Definitely. He's the son of a mob boss, for God's sakes! XD
If you were stuck on a desert island with your character(s), do you think they'd help you out a lot or they'd be utterly useless?
Hell no. He's an island all on his own.
Yes, of course! Seb's a sweetheart like that, and very smart. He'd solve our problems easily.
He'd be totally useless. He'd be freaking out over no air conditioning.
What is an outfit your character(s) wouldn't be caught dead wearing? Is this a reflection on your own fashion sense?
A dress, since he's proud of being mannly. He also wouldn't be caught dead wearing pink. This does not reflect me, as I love dresses and pink! :3
Something tasteless and tacky. Probably a grungy t-shirt and sweatpants. That's so not fantabulous. XD But I wear that all the time when I'm at home. I like to be comfortable.
Anything that makes him look bad to people. I don't care what people think.
Do you reckon your character(s) would rather die a slow painful death heroically or die a cowardly, painless death?
cowardly death.
Heroic death (he IS a real life hero, after all).
Most DEFINITELY a cowerdly death.
Does your character(s) believe in the occult, or carry any superstitions? How about you?
He hates God, says he doesn't believe in him... But secretly he does.
Scientologist, so no. He has visions, but he can't explain him.
He thinks his family is like a cult. Which is why he wants to get out.
Is your character(s) a tree hugger? If not, how enviornmentally conscious would you say you arein comparison to your character?
He'd let it all burn for all he cared, as long as he has music.
He likes the environment. He's not a tree hugger or anything.
There are probably thousands of cigarettes he's stamped out in the ground. So no, he doesn't care.
Name your character's vices. Do you share any of them?
Wine, music (its a vice for him, as he can't live without it). I share the music one.
Umm... I'm not sure what his vices are. He's a sucker for anything cheesy. I like cheesy things too.
Lust, gluttony, greed, pride, wrath, sloth, and envy......... What? (XD I share gluttony, sloth, and sometimes envy)
Does your character(s) have any specific fears? Do you share any of their fears?
People seeing his face. No, People see my face all the time! XD
People dying. I am afraid of death.
His father. He's terrified of him.
Have you visited the hometown of your character(s)? If so did you like it there and if not, do you want to visit?
No for any of them. I would LOVE to visit book!Erik's hometown just outside of Rouen in France. I don't care to visit Maine, but I do REALLY want to visit New York for Damien.
When your character(s) gets embarrassed, how do they react? Do you react similarily?
He gets angry. I sorta do.
Blushes really madly. Its adorable. I do also.
He tries to change the subject. I do too.
Does your character(s) like or dislike attention? Do you?
He hates it. Though he loves it when people praise him for his music.
Definitely not.
Hell to the yes. That's all he lives for.
Does your character(s) find it easy or hard to trust others?
Very difficult. He hasn't found a reason to trust anyone yet.
Yes, because he's so secretive about his visions. He doesn't want to be hurt again.
Yes, mostly because he keeps things to himself.
Was your character(s) the popular kid or more like the loner? Does this reflect how you were/are growing up?
All my characters were loners. Erik and Seb still are. Mephi just loves attention though. And I was never a loner then. I am now.

How much do you relate to your character? Why do you relate to them? Why do you not?
Golly. If anybody actually relates to Sherlock Holmes I am yet to know of their existence. I don't think I can personally relate to Sherlock Holmes on many levels. Though I do have a rather obsessive sense of determination. *Nod*
Why did you choose your character?
I felt he would be a rather... complex character. And as I quite like a challenge, on in the form of Sherlock Holmes seemed very inviting.
Is there something you especially like about your character? Something you dislike?
I dislike his arrogance, which in my opinion is expceptionally uncalled for. But then again, without that I doubt he would really be Sherlock Holmes. On the other hand, I'm a rather big fan for his marvellous deduction. Marvellously marvellous.
If you met your character, what would you say or do?
I'd probably be something like... "... Can you tell what that guy over there ate for breakfast three weeks ago?"
If you get your character a gift, what would it be?
A deerstalker hat.
If you were having a party, would it be ideal to invite your character?
Definitely not. XD Oh, the hilarity. I can imagine it now...
Are there things your character does that you don't or never would do in real life? Are there things your character does that you DO in real life?
I would never be so pompous. At least I don't think I would, but being myself, the opinion on myself must be rather one-sided. So that's for someone else to decide. And I would definitely not take drugs. >.< If I've figured something out, it's a little habit of mine to keep other people guessing until I can reveal the answer with an air of 'EUREKA'! Very fun to do so. But that's all I can think of, really. :3
Would your parents like your character if they met them?
My dad might do... As he's a fan. I doubt my mum would easily approve though. XD Holy cricket. I'm imagining it now.
Would your want your character to back you up in a bar fight?
Definitely! What a scene it would make. But as I'm rather young to be in a bar in the first place, it would be an odd image.
If you were stuck on a desert island with your character, do you think they'd help you out a lot or they'd be utterly useless?
Most definitely useless. Unless deducing the eating lifestyle of a crab would come to much help. He'd probably just constantly demand tea.
What is an outfit your character wouldn't be caught dead wearing? Is this a reflection on your own fashion sense?
I doubt Sherlock would ever wear a dress. I, on the other hand, do wear dresses.
Do you reckon your character would rather die a slow painful death heroically or die a cowardly, painless death?
He would probably congratulate whoever it was that managed to kill him, but being the vain man I would assume a heroic death. Nothing of the sacrifice sort, of course. And I can rather unfortunately say that I would probably be the same.
Does your character believe in the occult, or carry any superstitions? How about you?
Nope. Not really.
Is your character a tree hugger? If not, how enviornmentally conscious would you say you are in comparison to your character?
I don't think he is. Doubt it, really, as it seems to be an unlikely image. So, compared to Sherlock I would probably be very. Though I guess I'm just normally leveled.
Name your character's vices. Do you share any of them?
He is expceptionally rude, among many, many other things. But I don't feel that I share any of these.
Does your character have any specific fears? Do you share any of their fears?
I like to think that Sherlock has a rather irrational (despite everything else about him) fear of large spaces of open water. And me, being the odd person I am, sort-of seem to share that. Despite the fact that I kayak and canoe regularly. Hmm.
Have you visited the hometown of your character? If so did you like it there and if not, do you want to visit?
That is, of course, dependent on which home town we are speaking of. Holmes' place of birth changes with the references for his history you use. But I do happen to live in Great Britain, and subsequently do happen to like it. No need for visiting.
When your character gets embarrassed, how do they react? Do you react similarily?
I dare say Sherlock rarely becomes embarassed. For there is little for him to be embarassed about. I don't think I share this, though, as being fairly clumsy I do tend to make a regular mockery of myself. All in good heart.
Does your character like or dislike attention? Do you?
In my opinion, Sherlock Holmes loves attention - as long as it is positive, and from only those whom Sherlock (dare I say) likes enough to care. Care. Bleh. I guess I'm the same in that also.
Does your character find it easy or hard to trust others?
He has both little trust and expectations in others, for the obvious reason that he is Sherlock Holmes. Simply put.
Was your character the popular kid or more like the loner? Does this reflect how you were/are growing up?
Sherlock was most definitely a loner. I don't really pay attention to things like that, though. So I wouldn't know what to class myself. Just... regular, I suppose.

How much do you relate to your character(s)? Why do you relate to them? Why do you not?
I do relate to my character. I suppose he does some things I wish I could do and a lot of things that I know I would never want to do, but it is so much fun to watch him do some of those very odd things.
Why did you choose your character(s)?
I had played the Victorian Phantom of the Opera on 3 other sites and I love the story, have seen many of the different versions and read the books and it was just a natural for me.
Is there something you especially like about your character(s)? Something you dislike?
I like the fact that he is smart and involved in computers, music and art, as I am. I don't think I really dislike anything about him.
If you met your character(s), what would you say or do?
In a quiet voice: "Danny, calm down; have a seat and tell me what's bothering you..."
If you get your character(s) a gift, what would it be?
That's difficult. He has most everything he needs except a girlfriend. He's not really into material things, except he does have a drive to amass a fortune, not that I know what he's going to do with it. Maybe to pay the monthly dues on his penthouse, I don't know. So a gift. Hmmm. Difficult to think of. Perhaps a pet. Yes, that's it. He needs a pet to keep him company. He might forget to feed it though. He's keeps strange hours and can't keep track of time. So it would have to be something that could nag him for lunch.
If you were having a party, would it be ideal to invite your character(s)?
That would be a disaster. There is no way I would invite Danny. He is fine with one person, all right with a small group, but large groups, he would probably just go psychotic or maybe do something weird. Not sure. He's unpredictable.
Are there things your character(s) does that you don't or never would do in real life? Are there things your character(s) does that you DO in real life?
Definitely. I do NOT hack into computers. I am not a criminal. I don't steal stuff. I don't kidnap anyone. I am not crazy. Or at least I dont' think I am. I suppose that's a matter of opinion. However I DO sit up all night on the computer, I spend lots of time and am obsessive with my hobbies.
Would your parents like your character(s) if they met them?
No freakin' way. They would think he was off his rocker. Which he is. And that I would be off my rocker for bringing him around.
Would your want your character(s) to back you up in a bar fight?
No way. Danny...well, it 's not that he's not brave. I am sure he is. And maybe sometimes he will do brave things. But he just gets too freaked out by anything not going his way, so he would probably just go into himself and not be able to talk or anything and would be no help at all. If I had him along, we would definitely stay away from bar fights.
If you were stuck on a desert island with your character(s), do you think they'd help you out a lot or they'd be utterly useless?
Actually, I think he'd be cool on a desert island. Danny is very ingenious and I am sure he would figure out a way to build the best desert island paradise since Gilligan's Island and he could entertain me too with his singing.
What is an outfit your character(s) wouldn't be caught dead wearing? Is this a reflection on your own fashion sense?
A raggy sweatshirt and ripped jeans. Or anything dirty or smelly. He is casual, but likes clean clothes and he wears jeans, but not the ripped up kind or the kind that hangs down to your knees. He is very clean too. And yes, probably I would never be seen with ripped jeans, but I don't know. If just to take a walk, maybe ...
Do you reckon your character(s) would rather die a slow painful death heroically or die a cowardly, painless death?
I suspect long before he got to either of those points, his mental illness would have kicked in and he would no longer be aware of anything anyway. He might be brave to save someone he loved, though...
Does your character(s) believe in the occult, or carry any superstitions? How about you?
No to both.
Is your character(s) a tree hugger? If not, how enviornmentally conscious would you say you arein comparison to your character?
Definitely not a tree hugger. He probably recycles and doesn't waste things. Same with me.
Name your character's vices. Do you share any of them?
Kidnapping, stealing, lying, computer crime. I might have told a few fibs on occasion, but none of the rest.
Does your character(s) have any specific fears? Do you share any of their fears?
He fears always being alone, without someone to love, he fears his crimes being found out by the law, he fears anyone finding out about his face or his background in the mental hospital. And no, I don't share any of these fears.
Have you visited the hometown of your character(s)? If so did you like it there and if not, do you want to visit?
If you are talking about New York City, yes I have been there once. If you are talking about London, where he was born, no I have not been there yet and I would love to visit.
When your character(s) gets embarrassed, how do they react? Do you react similarly?
He blushes and gets nervous. He might laugh nervously or stutter. If terribly embarrassed, especially about something bad, he might get a bit psychotic. I react the same way, except the last.
Does your character(s) like or dislike attention? Do you?
Danny likes attention from one person at a time. He generally stays away from groups. If he knows what he has to say, he can go in front of small groups to give presentations, like his work at the architectural firm. He is not at his most comfortable doing that. If put in front of a crowd or unknown people and especially if he has no clue what to say, he will become stressed out and possibly have a psychotic fit. This is why, even though he excels in music, he would never want to have a recital or any kind of concert in front of people. Me, on the other hand, I'm sort of a ham. I'm shy, but love to get in front of people and sing or talk. IF I'm prepared. If not, and I can't ad lib anything, I could feel as stressed as Danny.
Does your character(s) find it easy or hard to trust others?
I'm not really sure yet. I think he is rather trusting. Although he has some wicked secrets, he is not one to ever hurt anyone and he doesn't expect anyone would hurt him either. He of course doesn't trust authority or anyone he suspects could turn him in.
Was your character(s) the popular kid or more like the loner? Does this reflect how you were/are growing up?
Definitely the loner. Danny was the kid who always was beaten up by the other kids simply for existing. He was teased and treated badly by almost everyone and he found solace in being alone. And yes, this is me too. While I wasn't beat up, I was made fun of and didn't have many friends. I found myself to be better company than most others.
