Alice had snuck out of her home again. She didn't want to have to tell her Mother where she was going. She knew that she could of just told her that she was going to go practice, but her mother didn't approve of her going down on Broadway all alone. Alice didn't see what the big deal was, but her Mother said that it was a place for older people. Alice just shrugged and went anyways.
Alice had a pass to go on stage anytime she wanted, as long as no one else was there at the time. She had danced on this stage before, in front of crowds of people. Thousands of them watching her dance. She got splendid reviews. Alice knew she was a good dancer, she never doubted that, but as much as she loved to dance, it was not what she wanted to do in life. What she wanted to do was explore the world, but for the time being dancing would have to do.
Alice climbed on to the the stage. She already put the Cd in the player that sat behind the curtain and just had to press play on the remote she held in her tiny hand. She was dressed in long black Jazz pants, with black tank top and dance shoes, along with a pinstriped black Fedora that sat a top of her blonde head. She quickly got into starting position with her hat tipped low to shade her face. Her foot pointed outward with one hand stationed on her hip. She pressed play on the remote before sliding it into her back pocket.
Then she counted to eight, and let the dance begin.
It started out as simple movements a leg twirl and shoulder roll or two. But then the words started to come in and the moves got more complicated.
come on babe, why dont we paint the town?
Alice did a quick turn on the toes of her feet then did a long bend backwards then popped back up. Her arms started to move faster wrapping around her body to imitate the Lyrics. Alice's eyes stayed closed as she danced.
find a flask we're playing fast and loose
Alice did a quick Leg turn that had her facing the other direction as she moved smoothly with the beat. She did thousands of little moves that combined into one to be one fluent motion that led to her doing the splits as the climax of the song came. Her head bent to touch the floor as she was in the splits, she waited for her cue.
for all...that..jazz!
Alice's legs twirled as she rolled and ended and spun to her knees . She kept moving until the song came to end where Alice went back to the position she started in. Alice had a smile on her face as she finished the dance.

Ever since the chance meeting with Meg in an empty broadway theater Hector hadn't indulged in his favorite pasttime. Tap dancing. His shoes had been hung up in his closet for too long and he decided it was high time for him to dust them off and try them out.
One of the pluses to being mayor was that he had access to practically every establishment in the city. Getting into a broadway theater (not the one he had met Meg in) Hector was surprised and disappointed to hear music already filtering through the system. Hector walked around back stage, his tap shoes clicking loudly, and onto the stage towards the end of the routine a blonde girl was performing.
As she ended, Hector clapped. She did quite well, a jazz dancer at her finest it would seem. "Bravo," He said mildly, walking onto the stage further. He tucked his hands into his pockets as he walked towards the center of the stage. He turned his head to look out over the empty audience and did not envy performers one bit. He would hate to have to display himself to so many people on a regular basis. Even the empty chairs were intimidating enough.

Alice turned as she heard someone speaking to her. She saw a man who she had never met before. She gave a short bow as to thanks and watched him carefully. She moved out from the center stage as he walked to where she stood at her dance. She heard the clicking of the taps on his shoes. She smiled, she loved tap dancing, she wasn't very good at it as she was with her other dances. But the use of only feet and the beat always interested her.
She watched him face the crowd and look out at the empty seats. she rocked back and forth on her heels while she watched him. He wasn't dancing or moving, just standing there in a dream state. Alice almost sighed impatiently, but she remembered what her mother had told her about being rude and decided to bite her knuckle to keep quiet.
After a while it seemed like it was just pointless to stay quiet and opened her mouth.
"You know it isn't nice to just pop out of the shadows like a bloody ghost and not introduce yourself. You night as well say "Boo" and run off like a phantom." Alice put her hands on her fists and tilted her head to the side "Sooo who are you Mate?"

Hector turned to face the girl, being pulled from his reverie by her brash tone. She was a rude little thing, talent aside. He looked over her slight form, deciding that she was petulant and childish. Looking away from her and back to the empty house, Hector responded flippantly.
"Hector Tormei, mayor. Perhaps you've heard of me?" Hector sincerely doubted it. She didn't strike him as the type to be up to date on politics or the business world. Hector wouldn't be at all surprised to find that she didn't even know what a mayor was. Judging from her accent and disregard for her elders, Hector wouldn't be surprised to find anything unsavory about her. He was rather good at reading people and his first instinct told him that this jazz dancer wasn't the brightest girl in the world. She wasn't necessarily stupid, but naive Hector was sure of.
"You know it isn't nice to be so disrespectful to your superiors," Hector turned her comment around and threw it right back at her. "Do you have permission to be in here or do I get the pleasure of calling the police on a trespasser this fine day?"

Alice giggled slightly and moved closer to him, trying to be sneaky. "I'm sorry Mr. Tormei, I don't know who you are, but your the mayor?" Alice skipped around him before sitting down in front of him and looking up at him from her place on the floor. She acted so childish and knew that it annoyed many people, but it was who Alice was. Childish, fun, and sometimes rude.
"Maybe you can talk to the police some for me, They like to handcuff me to a chair in the police station sometimes. I really don't understand whats so wrong with playing those games that they have on the corner." Alice was beaming with excitement ," Like those ones where you have three cards and you have to try and get the ace. I love that game!" Alice lost track of what she was talking about now as the excitement took over.
"Oh right, I'm sorry Mr.Tormei I just don't really think about what I say. My friend says I need to keep my mouth shut, but I do believe that is impossible." She grinned up at him ,"And Yes I got permission, in fact I have a pass. I did a ballet here once and ever since I have been aloud to practice here as long as no one was here first!" Alice nodded to affirm what she said.
Alice came to her senses as she heard her mother's voice sounding in her head."I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself." Alice gave a dramatic bow before speaking. "My names Alison Liddell, But I'd rather be called Alice, that's what my Daddy called me."
Alice looked embarrassed and looked down at the stage floor. Her foot twisted back and forth slowly "Umm Mr. Tormei, if you umm see my Mum ,Alyssa Liddell, could you not tell her I was here? She hangs out around a bunch of top people, and you being Mayor could make her want to meet you. and I don't want her to not let me go explore anymore. Tomorrow I want to go down to this Jazz club that I have been wanting to go forever. If it wasn't for my Mum I would be over there all the time. "
Alice didn't stop to let him answer, "So do you Tap? I love Tap, but I'm not good at it. Can I watch you, please?"

Good God, did this girl ever stop talking? As she rambled on and skipped about like a child, Hector pinched the bridge of his nose to fend of the impending headache. She was far too energetic for her own good. Had she no focus? How on earth could she be a dancer if she couldn't even settle down long enough to introduce herself.
That being said, Hector didn't know who she was. He had never heard of her or her mother. He had no intention whatsoever of meeting Mother Liddell or, if he so happened to meet her, converse with her. He did not care about this girl's parental woes. Hector came to tap.
"Just...stop. Talking," Hector finally ground out when the girl stopped to take a breath. She wasn't a child! She was a grown woman from the looks of things. And yet she acted like a kindergartener. "And get out of the way. You can watch as long as you promise not to speak. At all,"

Alice quickly shut her mouth, she didn't really like being told what to do, but something in the tone of his voice, made it clear that she needed to shut up. She quickly moved so she wasn't sitting in front of him and more toward the edge of the stage. She was no where near him and he had plenty of room.
She wasn't lying when she said she wanted to see him Tap. Alice was fascinated in the art of Tap, she loved it so much. The ability to make music out of nothing but clicks of shoes was fascinating. It was an ability she herself did not have, but wished with all her heart that she could. It would be like magic. And oh how Alice loved Magic.
She sat and watched him quietly, behaving as he instructed. She waited for a movement, a tap, a touch, a word, anything. She could be very watchful when needed be, but was not patient. If he did not move soon she would burst."
