One brother found, Hector went off looking for the other. To say he wasn't expecting to find out that his occasional employee was actually his brother was surprising would be an understatement. Hector had hired Perry every so often for certain jobs that Hector didn't want inside the family. From what he remembered, Hector was brutish at best; not something he wanted to be related to. Hector liked to think of himself as an intelligent, intimidating man, not a meat sack with too much testosterone like Perry was (in his limited experience with the man).
Finding his...home was easy enough too. Goetzke wasn't a common last name and finding the boat registered to it was simple. Getting aboard was equally as easy. Hector brought the file with him even though he wasn't entirely sure that Perry knew how to read.
Hector at least had the advantage of not being horribly angry and irrational like he had been with Zander. All of his anger and bitterness had been spent on the blond man. Then again, Hector also knew without a doubt that he was a better man than Perry, even if he wasn't as good looking.
As long as he kept telling himself that, it would be true at least.
On the boat, Hector just shouted "Hello?" instead of venturing any further.

Perry never wanted to go out and search for his real family. He knew that he had a twin, at least, and he really had no strong urge to actually do anything about it. As far as he was concerned, they weren't brothers. His twin was adopted almost directly after they were given to the orphanage, or so he was told. But he was left behind to live in the orphanage for another six or so years, meeting numerous families and being rejected time and time again until the only people who decided adopt him were the worst people imagined. Chase wasn't bad, really. He tried, but he stayed at work most of the time. Samantha was the real problem. She wasn't a mother, she was a leach of the government. All she wanted was money. She didn't even want the other six kids after Roger, who was the perfect child. He was anything but, though. Roger was seven years older and seven years meaner. Perry liked to think that if he had managed to have been adopted by a good family, or not adopted at all, he could have been a better person. Since he grew up under the care of Roger and Samantha, that wasn't the reality. He had to become hard and mean just to keep his sanity in that house. If he was interested in finding his family, Perry would have done it years ago. He never thought about it, though. Never had a reason to. He had his family now. Catherine, the only sibling from that house he talked to now, was enough (even though they didn't exactly talk more so used hand gestures and read lips). Perry was under the deck when he heard someone step on his boat, followed by a loud, gruff, "Hello?"It was rare that he had people on his boat. It must have been important. Perry headed up to the cabin and opened the door, looking only slightly surprised when Hector was looking back at him. Perry did some work for Hector. When he didn't have work to do for the ship repair company and had some spare time, Hector would call him. He was good at doing that, too. Transporting the goods that needed to be delivered. Usually, he was used when he wanted to "keep certain things out of the family", or so he said. "Hector," he greeted with a nod, going ahead and closing the door behind him. "This is a surprise." Perry tried, and probably, failed to smile at him.

"Hector. This is a surprise."
Hector gave a small nod, moving closer. "I need to talk with you about something important." Hector said surely but quietly. His tone was serious but smooth, not threatening or cross. He wasn't angry at Perry (at least not as angry as he had been with Zander) but he also knew that this wasn't a joking matter.
Sliding his hands into his pockets, Hector glanced over his shoulder at the dock. It was empty, so he might as well get on with it.
Clearing his throat, Hector looked back at Perry. "You were given up for adoption 38 years ago." Clearing his throat, Hector shifted. It was a lot harder than he had been expecting to tell Perry this.
It was because he knew him.
"We're brothers," Hector said after a pause. "My mother gave you and your twin brother up for adoption when I was 7."

Perry was right. Hector said he needed to talk to him about something important. He just shrugged and folded his arms lazily over his chest, leaning his weight on to one foot. It had been some time since he did anything for Hector. It was probably a job he needed to get done, something out of the family and urgent. That was the only reason Hector would be there.
Or so he thought.
"You were given up for adoption thirty-eight years ago."
Perry froze for a moment, his face twisting to confusion. He must have gotten his math wrong; it was forty-one years.
"We're brothers. My mother gave you and your twin brother up for adoption when I was seven."
Well that was unexpected. He was surprised, sure. But really, he didn't care much about that. Perry knew for years and years that he had a twin. Never knew anything about an older brother. It was nice to know, but not something that would make him jump for joy or start seeing them regularly. They never did it before, so why start now?
"Okay," he said, still quite calm. "Thanks for telling me. Oh, but I'm forty-one. Not thirty-eight."

Perry's reaction to the news wasn't any less than Hector had been expecting. Perry has always been a man to ease into handling things, if he handled them at all. Perry had always been low key at handling things, completely unlike Hector who had a habit of exploding or imploding. He could keep it carefully controlled with business but he wasn't very good at it when it came to handling personal things.
"Thanks for telling me. Oh, but I'm forty-one. Not thirty-eight."
"No, you're thirty-eight." Hector reached into his jacket and pulled out a folded up copy of Perry's birth certificate he had made.
He resisted the urge to make a 'You can read, can't you?' joke and just silently passed the paper over to him.

A piece of paper was pulled out and extended to him. Perry walked up and took it, retreating to the distance between them before, and opened it up.
His birth certificate, or at least he assumed it was his because the name marked on it was in a much different writing than the rest of the information. He noticed it was his foster father's writing, a strange kind of scribble that was far from fluid and more like boxes. A writing he only saw from Chase. Perry nodded, more to himself, still skimming the paper. He wasn't named by his real parents.
He had a birthday. After all these years of not knowing, of the 'rents not bothering to celebrate, of just celebrating his birthday either on New Years or some other person's birthday, he actually had a specific birth date. It was so strange how a simple date would make a big difference. That little piece of information made such a big deal.
"Thirty-eight." Instead of the old forty-one he thought he was, he was three years younger. "Well, this is good." A strange grin spread across his face. "I'm going to keep this. It'll come in handy."
He folded it, then slipped it in to his back pocket. The fact he was three years younger, that he was two years younger than Joanna, meant he could be pardoned for his dishonorable discharge. He could actually not be considered a felon anymore. That was another big deal.
"I'm assuming you want to know about family, or do you not care?" Perry folded his arms over his chest. "And you probably already found the other one."

"Thirty-eight. Well, this is good. I'm going to keep this. It'll come in handy."
"Yes, you can postpone your midlife crisis another ten years. Lucky you," Hector drawled dryly, already bored with the encounter. He was related to a worker, big deal. It wasn't like he and Perry were close or would ever be close. Perry has a marked loner attitude and quite frankly, was boring 90% of the time and the 10% when he was actually interesting, he was a git. Hector had no interest in befriending that.
"I'm assuming you want to know about family, or do you not care? And you probably already found the other one."
Hector shook his head and turned, making his way to the the side of the boat again. "I don't give two fucks. It's your family, not mine, so why should I care?" Hector paused when he remembered the article he had tucked away in his pocket. He pulled it out and walked back over to Perry, holding it out. It was the same article he had dug up when he found Zander and wanted to know about him. "His name is Zander. CEO. Go meet him if you want."

Perry was strangely giddy. After years and years of being known as a felon, not being able to purchase a firearm or any weapon, not being able to get a certain license, not being able to vote, it was a pain. Now that he had his actually birthday and age, he could get a pardon.
Finally.
"Yes, you can postpone your midlife crisis another ten years. Lucky you."
Perry snorted and laughed, shifting on his feet and flat out grinning at Hector.
"Oh, to hell with the midlife crisis. No, I can use this to get my pardon. But thanks for the concern."
Hector passed him an article and said his twin's name was Zander. Perry took it, taking a moment to skim over it. So his twin was tall, blond, and handsome. Not to mention he was rich and influential. It figured that both of his brothers were successful. One was a CEO and the other was the Mayor, while he sat back on his felony working some dead end job inspecting ships. Just great. He nodded and hummed.
"Maybe one day."

"Oh, to hell with the midlife crisis. No, I can use this to get my pardon. But thanks for the concern."
"Yeah, don't care." Hector waved his hand and climbed off the boat. "And please, hesitate to call if you ever want something." Just because they were brothers didn't mean that Hector had to try and like a man he didn't even really care for.
Hector glanced back at Perry once before walking away from the boat This whole family business was annoying. Now he had to decide if he wanted to offer Perry a place in his 'work' family. He could, because of their bloodline but Perry seemed a little too dim to be of any use in the Tormei family.
Either way, he had brothers now.
And Hector wasn't sure what to do.
