So Jaime came up with the prospect of having a site plot for the revamp. I personally, am very much a fan of open site plots so the members can create the huge plots on their own and we're not kind of stuck in a bubble plot wise. BUT - if we can come up with something thats open enough where that's still possible, but centered enough where it gives players a good start plot wise, we'll definitely consider putting it in the revamp. So lets discuss this! Does anyone have any ideas on what would be good as a site plot?

I'm with Yols on the let the members plot amongst themselves deal mainly because everyone's canon is so different. If we did have a master plot, I'm not sure what it could be about. Usually, it's something that all characters could feesibly strive towards and I don't know if there's any one point that all characters could get involved in.

I was thinking something that everyone could identify with on some level, like political or maybe like a natural disaster (though that feels a little forced to me). I hate site plots that basically star the site's admins or the most popular players too, so that's definitely not my goal in suggesting this.
Since I play an investment banker and we're in New York, my self-serving idea is that a stock market crash would be cool (story-wise...). Could be a natural thing, or maybe it could be engineered to happen. Eeeebil. And that's something that, while of course Mayor Tormei and Harry and Claudius and Monte Cristo would probably be most directly involved in it, it's also something everyone would be able to react to. Like Kay said above, members could spin off their own plots, like Chase could go broke and start a shoplifting spree and get caught up with Tormei and the police or something.
I also like where the Ripper storyline is going. I know Kay, Nessie and Yols have stuff in mind for their own charries, and I'm sure there are others of y'all that I don't talk to as often, so I dunno, maybe plots could be interwoven. It'd be cool to have something to connect everyone aside from just the setting.

Oh yeah, I think that can be worked in. Thats kind of the beauty of an open ended plot, you guys can do what you want lol So instead of writing a fixed plot that everyone has to follow and that's just the way it is, you guys can come up with stuff like that at *anytime* and make it happen. And I think that would be a good way to start of things for the revamp, a stock market crash and people can get the ball rolling that way. And at any time things can get better or worse You all can determine it. How's that sound?

I think that sounds awesome. Not that I'm biased or anything. >.>

Why is my brain telling me Ricky could have engineered it somehow as part of his revenge on Hector for all the wrongs he thinks he's done him? He has control over the city's money, after all. XD
And even if he didn't, if it was just a natural think, he'd be all smug about it and blame Hector anyway. =P
ANYWAY.
I love this idea! ^^

I'm just gonna get this one out of the way: the Ripper. Yes, you all knew I was going to say it. I don't think there's really a need for me to push it further. It would be amazing if we could do something with that. Big manhunt, everyone pointing fingers (it'd be canon, hey!), then that thing I was planning with the death at the public event. Remember, Jack's only around for a limited time, so make the best of him! I know I want to!
Also, what about the opera plot? Leffie had some ideas for that.
We could somehow get the mobs involved too (or, Hector's, since his is the only one).

I like the stockmarket idea, the ripper idea, and the opera idea.
If you'd like to get the mob involved, I can easily whip up a mob related plot that could influence other characters (safety wise).

I love all of those ideas. =) And Nessie, maybe Ricky and MC can get together and engineer it? Since both of them are in positions to easily influence the market.

Somebody brought this up in the cbox (Jill I think) but maybe we could do something with the hurricane?

You might even be able to use the Hurricane as a cover-up for the engineered stock market crash. It would seem completely coincidental... only one little problem... it doesn't recover as quickly as it should have once the emergency situation is over.

Just had a brainstorm:
In Whitechapel in 1888, there was a vigilance committee. Now, back then it was completely legal, but now a days it wouldn't be. What if a group of site characters banded together into an organization much like the WVC and tried to hunt for Jack the Ripper themselves? It would make sense that the people of New York would be upset at the "poor" police work being done.
Thoughts?
