NPC ACCOUNTS !
DEFINITION:
A NPC (non-player character) is a character that is needed temporarily in order to complete a thread or plot or task. Consider them the "guest stars," "extras," or "randomers."
We have a few accounts that anyone can log in and use as NPCs. They are The Press, The Police, and The NPC accounts. Please, especially in the case of the NPC account - you only use them when you are not swamped with threads that you need to reply to.
Rules:
1) Don't spam the board. Only enter the thread with accounts if it is open or if you have permission to.
2)Do not use any of the accounts as if they were one of your characters. These should be only temporarily played, and overall shared by the community - and played by different people.
THE POLICE !
You can also use this account to NPC the law enforcement or police in any thread for any reason. But most importantly, the account can be used to report crimes that you see on the board - either standard crimes or policies put in place by the major. Feel free to peruse threads when you're bored and try to spice things up by catching someone red handed!
This account is for completely anonymous usage. Here's how the punishment system works if you happen to catch someone.
- Step One: The Police Confrontation
f you stumble upon an open thread where crimes have been made and policies are violated, feel free to log into the police account anonymously and RP an authority figure catching/arresting/confronting the offender. They don't have to be the police but maybe a bystander threatening to call the police.
If the thread is unopened and you spot an offense, PM the offending character with the police account anonymously, asking if it would affect the plot if the police entered the thread. If not, enter the thread. If so, create a new short thread where the character is questioned/confronted shortly after the events of the thread are over (this can be 2-4 posts long). - Step Two: The Punishment
It is up to the RPer controlling the police to decide what action needs to be taken (maybe the character is really cooperative or explains themselves well and the police lets them off clean. Maybe the character is really offensive and needs to be arrested). - Step Three: Police Records
When you have entered a thread or have created a thread with an offender as the police, report the offense in the Police Reports thread. From there staff will deal with the rest. - Step Four: Judgment
If the confrontation ended with an arrest, the offender will be PMed (once the offense was put in police records) and a consequence will be rendered. The consequence could end up being just a fine, or a night/few days in jail (which may or may not be RPed) or jail time/trial. It also depends on how likely the character has access to legal representation. These consequences count in RPs.

THE PRESS !
The Press can also be used at any time for any thread if the need arises. You can also us it to post in the City News section. In City News, you can post anything from news paper articles, magazine articles, TV ads, paper ads, fliers, public announcements - anything media oriented. If you post there, be sure to end the post with this signature so we know to award points.

NPC !
This is a general NPC account for any randomer you might want to make more realistic by giving them their own separate account.
Do not play a character with this account if you're not generally caught up with threads.
Some canon characters might be ideal to NPC. Simply PM an admin of you think a character should have the option of being an NPC. As a general note, major canons are not allowed to be a NPC character and neither are boyfriends/girlfriends or relatives that might be played by others. However if you PM an admin and the admin thinks the use of the NPC works, there may be exceptions to this.
In general, the NPC account is good for a lot of things. If you have a plot and need someone to get killed off, but want it to be 'real' - this is a good method to try. Simply ask someone who's caught up on threads to play the victim and they can log in to do so. Use it for randomer cashiers or party goers or some homeless guy or anyone that you just want to throw in a thread. Maybe a site plot requires an NPC. Just post with the following signature everytime you use the NPC account.
