Hello all. Everyone's favorite "eccentric" animal behaviorist is back. Or better known as "That Guy With The Parrot".
Anyways I need a jump start at getting the good Doctor involved again, so why not make a plot page?
Anyways here's what I'm up for finding.
Friends: Polynesia is always trying to force Doolittle into a social setting and some friends will definitely be good for him. Perhaps a book club?
Enemies: Highly unlikely that the amiable John Doolittle will make any enemies. Polynesia on the other hand...
Lovers?: Almost as unlikely as enemies. However it may happen....

Hey there! I’d love to plot with you! Here’s a bit about my characters and the random ideas I had: Detective Peter Aramis: This young detective spends most of his time either working, volunteering, or walking his dog. He’s friendly, but a bit of a mess on his own time, so he definitely doesn’t expect everyone around him to be normal. He’s the kind who befriends anyone who seems like they really need someone to be friends with, and he would probably be fascinated with Polynesia, so there is potential for them to be pals! Zander “Zeus” Devereux: Zander is CEO of Devereux Industries and has a poor memory for names and faces. He loves adventures, so he does anything he can for his own entertainment! However, he’s very flippant about things and would probably be the one to get in a fight with Polynesia over something silly, so perhaps he fits into the ‘enemy’ category? Siobhan “Nyx” Shaw: Siobhan is a widow, but she doesn’t let her past hardships hold her back. She’s kind, caring, and often only functions at night time. She runs charities and is often found feeding everyone she comes across. She loves books and would probably jump right in on a book club thread – that’s a great idea, by the by! She would probably find John endearing and befriend him. Sunny (Robinson) Crusoe: Sunny is an ex-naval officer who spent most of his career on an island, but it led to him becoming a bestselling author, as well as his recent diagnosis as a schizophrenic (a lie, he’ll assure you) so it all sort of worked out. He’s quirky and seems like he’s on a sugar rush most of the time, but he’s fun regardless. Also, with his background as a naval officer and a native Hawai'ian, it’s likely he’s heard of ‘Mad Moreau.’ However, seeing as how he knows time on an island can make people go a bit off in the head, he probably wouldn’t care who John was or even know if he was real or not. They could be pals. If any of that interests you, we should plot! Welcome back!

They all sound good. And I've been thinking about having Doolittle meet Sunny. However "Mad Moreau" was a nickname from his days at Oxford. Though him hearing of the south seas property (island) is a good angle.
As for the book club maybe one of us should post a group plot thread to see if there are any others interested.

Hey there! I'm gonna copy Tens here and give you a tiny bit about my characters:
Osric Young: (Hamlet) Osric is pretty much the peppiest kid you'll ever meet. (Well, provided he's not high, but he totally doesn't do that, nope.) I say kid, but he's actually 23, even if he doesn't act it - he used to be an aspiring musician, but his band ended with a bang (literally, there was a car crash). Right now he works odd jobs mostly, so he can be found anywhere really. He'd think Polynesia was just the best thing ever, and of course he'd like Doolittle because he likes everyone. If he's a vet (I was a little confused which of the three occupations Doolittle actually pursues), maybe Osric finds a wounded cat or puppy and runs over to Doolittle's clinic as is like FIX IT.
Gregory Lestrade: (Sherlock Holmes) These two boys keep to themselves a bit more than Osric ever does, so I'm not sure how they would come into contact. Perhaps he's stuck on patrol duty one day, covering for someone (he's a DI, so he usually wouldn't) and sees Doolittle with the parot and is like "Shit, that's... not right," and goes up to Doolittle to ask about it? He also would have heard of the South Seas indecent with his parents, assuming the paper or the police covered that, but I doubt that would come up in their conversation in any capacity.
If you have other ideas for either of these two, shoot! You or I can start threads. Also I think it's a great idea to start a little group plotter for a book club! It could be a quirky, rag-tag little group I'm sure would be fun!

Actually since Doolittle actually has enough money to live comfortably, he doesn't really need a job. But he volunteers at a free veterinary clinic/ humane society sort of thing as a sort of penance.
And as for Lestrade. Hmm. Yeah, maybe someone breaks into his place and Doolittle is filing a report?
As for the book club. John isn't really the type to start one (unless Polynesia nags him into it)

Ooh, I like the idea of Osric going into the free veterinary clinic then. He doens't have money anyways.
For Lestrade, I think you misunderstood me. He's a police officer. I thought Doolittle was a doctor, he wouldn't file reports.
We can just have whomever made the bookclub vague, but I still suggest you make the plotting thread because it's your idea! Say a little more of what you're thinking for the group, ya know?

I meant some one breaks in to Doolittle's place and Lestrade ends up being the one to deal with it. Please forgive me for either being blatantly horribly mistaken or not explaining my idea properly.
And I shall post the book club plot thread soon.

Sure, we can do that. If you like, how about I start the one with Osric and you could start the one with Gregory? I imagine he'd either call Greg in or go to the station himself to notify, whichever you'd prefer.
