An Unusual Thread For An Unusual Conundrum

I was looking at my thread tracker on Microsoft Word, as you do, and I came to the conclusion that while Morag and Claudius have two threads each, Rickyboy only has one which has been on a sort of hiatus for a bit and Lady Catherine de Bourgh has none. Poor Lady C. -gives new Prada handbag in compensation-

ANYWAY.

If anyone has any ideas for their characters and Ricky and/or Lady Catherine please let me know! ^^

I'll just give you a quick bio/update thingy so you don't need to go reading my long winded apps. XD

Richard Plantagenet III: 49, veteran of the Gulf War, ex-mayor of NYC, currently NYC's comptroller, engineered the spectacular stock market crash alongside his ally the Count of Monte Cristo which still continues to affect NYC's economy.

An ambitious and bitter figure, Richard murdered his older brother Edward in order to gain his position as Mayor of New York City. After a term rife with political and financial complications, he was 'usurped' (his words) by the current mayor, Hector Tormei, a former business associate and 'friend'. He subsequently sabotaged the stock market as a means to get revenge on Hector, who had also strong-armed Richard into helping run his underworld mob operations. Currently, he's being his usual brooding, discontented self. :3

The Right Honourable Lady Catherine de Bourgh: 60, socialite, head of/works for a number of charities including (the only one I've given a name) Art with a Heart.

Lady Catherine de Bourgh can easily be seen simply as an annoying snob, who is very particular about people using her title when they speak to her, shopping for lots of stuff she doesn't need and flaunting her wealth and status in doing so (she's quite egotistical. Ditch the 'quite'). She is a shrewd character and more clever than the impression she initially gives would suggest - she is also very used to having her instructions followed and her demands met (though maybe this is more due to her overbearingness than anything else). She does have a heart however and misses her deceased husband Sir Lewis de Bourgh more acutely than she lets on - she is also concerned for the well-being of her sickly daughter, Anne.

She's also become famous around here for her extensive collection of Prada handbags and Chanel skirt suits. XD

*flail* I'm in the same boat. We can help each other mebbe. Kate and Morag are already going, but Kate adn Lady C could have another go at it. Lord knows it would be entertaining as all hell XD.

Rochester and Ricky kinda run in the same circles. I can tell you though, he will positively loathe Ricky (he hates greedy people, the power-hungry, pretenders, suck-ups and fakes in general. Maybe they can try for a business deal until they realize they realy hate each other XD

I dunno if either would want to talk to Penny, but if you're interested XD...

As for Rochester and Ricky, Ricky doesn't make it obvious he's ambitious and power hungry - to be honest, despite his near persistent moodiness, he can be a very polite guy. I think it'd be interesting to have these two thread somehow! (:

How did I miss this? Eh, I'm replying now!

Lady C:

Peter – we’ve already RP’d these two, but if she ever needs him for a plot device, he’s at her disposal .

Zander – I could see these two butting heads. He had southern charm, but he also does manage to get easily offended by things, and he would probably invent a dozen names for her because he wouldn’t be able to keep ‘Lady C’ straight. This could be amusing, but I don’t have anything concrete.

Siobhan – I could see the pair of them either teaming up for some charity thing or perhaps being at the same party and sat at the widow's table or something towards that end. Siobhan is very diplomatic – not to the point where she puts up with things, like Peter, but to the point where she tries to make polite conversation and keeps her opinions mild. She’d probably manage to keep up with Lady C for a while!

Sunny – If these two interacted, I could see Lady C freaking out at him for something stupid he did (like eating the decorative flowers or flicking his peas at unsuspecting people), which would only freak him out, and there would be a huge mess. It could be pretty crazy, but again, I have nothing concrete!

Richard:

Peter – I kind of want to throw Richard and Peter together again, especially since Peter's slept with Anne. I could see either neither of them knowing, and then Richard wants Peter to look into who is sleeping with his wife (and because he needs money, he’ll do side work for him). OR maybe Richard knows it was Peter and wants to chat with him to see what he knows about the situation before pouncing on him? Anyways, let me know what you think of that.

Zander – These two have a rapport with each other, so again, he’s available for any plot devices, but I don’t really have any solid ideas for them.

Siobhan – It seems like her deceased husband knew everyone, so it’s possible that she and Richard were familiar. I don’t have any ideas here, but I’m open to anything!

Sunny – Again, I think that he would press a lot of buttons, which is a talent of his. Maybe he wants to interview Richard as the ‘fallen mayor’ archetype for his new novel and then proceeds to just tick the other man off?

Let me know if any of that appeals to you or you have ideas .

I love all the ideas you have here Tens, although I must say I adore both the idea of Lady C and Zander having some sort of confrontation, and Lady C and Sunny... oh goodness, when I first read that, the amusing mental images... XD I'm afraid as yet I have nothing concrete for either of these but I'd definitely be interested! (:

On a somewhat irrelevant note, I found a brilliant Lady C muse song - its beats 'Country Gardens' at any rate - 'Primadonna', Marina and the Diamonds. Oh, Lady C.

As for Rickyboy...

Having Ricky and Peter thread again would, in my opinion, be epicness. However, I don't know if the whole Peter/Anne deal is canon since the thread became inactive? And I don't really know what the deal with Ricky and Anne is just now, since their current argument has been on hiatus for months. XD THAT BEING SAID, I'm sure we could have these two thread again - although I think in one of Anne's posts she said Ricky had no idea about her and Peter so I'm inclined to that as being canon, the idea of Ricky knowing and then attacking the unsuspecting Peter sounds just like him. Oh Ricky, Ricky, Ricky...

What is it with Sunny and pushing my character's buttons? I also love this idea, though I can see Ricky being disgruntled before the thread even begins - then again, he's pretty much permanently disgruntled, so...

First off – YES. Prima Donna is completely and totally her song! My roommate used to sing it because she was the ultimate Prima Donna and your lady C reminds me of her, haha.

Anyways, moving onto things that matter....

Lady C & Zander: I can admit that this would be an epically hilarious pairing! Again, nothing concrete, but perhaps they are planning some party together and have differing opinions? Or perhaps they both get asked the same question and it leads to some back and forth banter?

Lady C & Sunny: I got a kick out of that, too! I’m sure Sunny would put her into an absolute fit! Umm, all I have is that they’d end up in the same place for whatever reason, Sunny gets bored, does something strange, and Lady C has a meltdown, so if you have any ideas, let me know.


Ricky and Peter: Talked with Steph tonight and she says she’s coming back, but her internet is very limited. SO Anne and Peter could pick up again in the future! So I’m not sure if we want to leave it for a bit, but it could still make for an interesting thread if the suspicions are there.

Ricky and Sunny: Pressing buttons is what Sunnykins does! If you’d like to do a thread with these two, I’m up for it!

I love the idea of Lady C and Zander having to plan some party together - the results would be an interesting mix, to be sure! Since we have that more concrete idea, as much as I love the idea of Lady C/Sunny, should we stick with these two? (:

Similarly, I think I'd like to wait to hear from Steph and make what's canon concrete before starting any threads in relation to Ricky/Anne/Peter/Ricky's paranoia...but I'm sure Ricky/Sunny would be a blast! I'm planning a gloomy, angsty Ricky post for the February prompt, so he'll be appropriately grouchy (and I'll cheer myself up by laughing at him being grouchy!)

Which one would you like to do first, or would you want to do both at once? Would you be able to start things off either way - I ave an essay I really should be writing just now...
