Here's a guide on how to earn and spend points.
Note: Keep checking the news updates in the welcome table for announcements on new ways to earn points.
EARNING POINTS !
[/SIZE][/center] Participation
Posting & Activity - Any amount of Points can be earned simply by staying active and putting effort in your posts. Your fellow members will grant you points. The admins might even give you bonus points if they're feeling generous.
The Brainstorm Prompts - 10 points are rewarded for those who post in the official monthly prompts (per participant, not per entry).
Award Voting - 5 points per category that you vote for during the monthly awards.
Official Threads - 10 points are awarded to those who participate in official site discussions.
City News
City News Content- 10 points can be earned by logging into the Press NPC accounts and making articles, media vignettes, or other content that you can think of that may be as long as a good sized post. 5 points will be earned for ads (written and with graphics), or short pieces that you can think of. Make sure to add the posting signature given in the NPC guidelines.
Interviews - 15 points can be earned by interviewing a character or being the character interviewed for City News content. Every month staff will select a person from the accepted characters list to be an interviewer. If that person accepts, he/she can interview whomever they chose for City News, as long as they agree. They can set up the interview to be for a famous magazine that they make up or that's real, or for a news paper, or TV show. Just make sure that you don't interview someone who's already been interviewed recently.
Characters being interviewed will also get 15 points.
Columns - 10 points are awarded to those who start a column in City News and 5 points are awarded for every submission they make after the initial start. 5 points are also awarded to those who make submissions to advice columns created by members for city news. Column operators have a duty to pm an admin everytime the get a submission by someone, letting them know who submitted so they are awarded points.
Comments - 5 points are awarded to those who use the NPC account to make comments on articles and other media where its appropriate. This is per thread, not per entry.

Milestones & Awards
Post Count - a certain number of points are awarded when you reach a post count. 50 posts - 10pts, 200 posts - 20pts, 500 posts - 50pts, 1000 posts -100pts, 2000 posts - 100pts, 3000 posts - 100pts and so on.
This begins as of this posting. So if you think you haven't received points for 200 post milestone and you now have 300 posts as of the date of this post, sorry! You won't be allowed to request points. As long as you've reached the milestone after the date of this post, you're fine!
One Year Anniversary - 100 points are awarded to members who have been here for a whole year!
Monthly Awards - 25 points are earned if you've won a monthly award.
Extras
Birthdays - 10 points will automatically be rewarded if its your birthday.
Award Graphics - 25 points. We ask a member every month to do award graphics and points are awarded to those who help out.
Banner/Skin Graphics/Other graphics for Site Shop - 50 points per job. One of the ways you can spend points is buying your own skin, or a graphic. When this happens, you can receive points by making the bought items.
Convincing a friend to Join RC - 40 points. The member must have joined after the date of this post.
Contests & Games - Points to be determined. We will award points when we have these.
Now what do you do with all those points? Well you use them of course! Here's how! Spend your points on any of these items.
USING POINTS!
[/SIZE][/center]Extra Monthly Award Votes - 15 points per category. If you're just one of those people who cant pick one or two people to vote for, you can buy extra votes that will count towards the tally. Or if you're feeling generous and really want to give someone an extra push, you can vote for someone twice and it will count.
Shout - Outs - 15 points. Want to say something random and want everyone to know about it? Buy one of these and we'll put it up in the welcome table for 2 weeks.
Custom Title - 25 points. Want a second cool phrase under your name? Get one!
Graphics - 25 points. Want graphics RC or non RC related? Just buy them and we'll get someone to do them for you.
Sub-board - 50 points. Want a sub-board for your character's house or business or work place? Buy one! Prerequisite: The place you're requesting should be a place that admins believe would be used and RPed in. If after two months, the space isn't used much, we have the right to remove it and you'll get your points back.
Personalized Banner/skin - 75 points. Buy this and you get a skin with your very own personalized banner!
Double Dare Ticket - 35 points. This gives you the ability to tell a player to include or do something in one of their next three posts. If they don’t do it, they lose 25 points. Note: Staff has the ability to determine if a dare is to unreasonable to complete and disallow it so be careful! Its all in good fun!
A 4th character - 200 points. This can only be used once. Once you buy a fourth character, you can’t buy any more. If you choose to drop a character so you have three again, you can’t buy a fourth character again.
