00V. description Theodore is a tall and skinny young man, almost to the point of bony. His posture has a slouching look to it, but he can easily straighten out to measure up with some one. Between Theodore and David, Theo has a slightly lower voice, and much perkier. When it comes to attire Theodore prefers to wear anything that is comfortable. Which usually means a t-shirt and jeans, or an occasional button down shirt. A mischievous is often spread across his face from ear to ear, easily making him look like he is up to something.
David can be just as loose and relaxed as Theo, but prefers to stay well-kept. His posture is very straight and proud. His voice is slightly higher with a high-spirited tone to it. The expression on his face shares the bubbly smile that Theo has. David's choice of clothing is different than Theo's, but changing every time they switch personalities would be time consuming and pointless. Thus he tends to wear whatever he happens to have on. When the choice is his, he'll to wear a clean button down shirt and slacks with a tie every now and then.
00I. overall personality Theo may be twenty, but that doesn't necessarily mean he acts like it all the time. He is childish and enjoys a good laugh. Like a kid he looks on the good side of life and ignores the problems. He just likes to think that if he ignores them long enough it will go away. He isn't good at confronting stress; avoidance is his way of coping with it. He bottles up his negative emotions when around others. That goofy smile of his is worn even when he's furious. He is also very oblivious to other people's personal space. Up close and friendly is just how he works. He can't help it if he makes people uncomfortable; it is just the fact that he can't stand being alone, and practically pines for anyone to be with.
Theo is a motor mouth. He keeps talking like there is no tomorrow. He knows it gets on people's nerves, but silence isn't exactly his favourite. He is utterly ignorant of how offensive a great deal of what he says is. Rarely does he stop to think "Should I really be saying this?" Happily he'll insult someone with the blunt truth. His opinion is told to everyone no matter how rude or frank it is. When he does realize the damage that it does, he apologizes in a tone that doesn't sound sincere in the slightest. Though he really does mean it!
He is very forgiving, and somewhat thick about it. He accepts apologies, always giving people nth number of chances. A lot of times he doesn't notice the difference between a sincere apology and a sarcastic one. Once he realizes it, he teases that person about it. He treats others' with respect when they are strangers, and with people he knows he doesn't hold back, he is just his happy-go-lucky, chatty self. That doesn't mean he's and idiot though. He is very serious about study, just reluctant to cram for hours on end. He gets bored and finds it dull after a certain amount of time without anything else to do.
Theodore has Dissociative Identity Disorder, or DID for short. Because of this another personality was created; this one is known as David Tweed. Though each are distinctly different, they both share traits that are common among people with DID. Extreme forgetfulness is one that both suffer from, and not like forgetting to lock the door, though that does happen occasionally. They have trouble recalling personal information; if someone asked one of them to state their birthdate, either one would not be able to remember right away. For all practical purposes it might as well be called amnesia. They both also have severe anxiety of being alone. They desperately need to be with people. Without the comfort of another person around they are very prone to anxiety attacks.
Both are very aware of one another. They try not to interfere with one another's lives, but it never really works like that. Occasionally one has been able to feel the other's emotions run through himself. There is also a few times where one is able to hear the other's thoughts in the back of his mind and communicate through that. It is very rare for something like that to happen to them, but it does occur. Switching between the two happens when their is a sudden or strong negative emotion in the one who has control of the body. It commonly switches from Theo to David when Theo bottles up his stress. Also a sudden change in the environment can cause a sudden switch. Neither one is necessarily dominant, but Theo is more commonly in control.
David is the polar opposite of Theo when it comes to dealing with stress. He takes on the problems in life, and head on. He is ambitious, always getting things done. No obstacle is too hard for David. Once his mind is set on something, he sticks with it until the very end. He is serious about a lot of what he does. He enjoys writing, and takes pride in what he does. He really likes to read literature also.
He is just as chipper and friendly as Theo. He can often come out as just as thick too. Because of this, when they switch isn't always obvious right away. David is very social, not worrying about other's would think of him. He'll start a conversation with just about anyone, if they show the potential to have an interesting conversation with. He is full of nonsense; he will talk to someone he doesn't know about the most random things. Though he is very talkative, and abnormally friendly, he does know when to use manners. He nearly always uses honorifics with strangers.
He may be polite with strangers, but with people he knows, people he doesn't like, he is very blunt. He is aware of what he's saying, and does realize it's rude. He can look someone in the eye, and shoot them down with a single sentence if they get on his nerves. David isn't one to back down. He can come off as harsh when he's angry. His fuse is very short, often jumping to conclusions. He becomes reluctant to listen to some one's reasoning; almost like a child with a bad temper. He can be quick to anger with just a few wrong words.
He doesn't always understand why people act the way they do. He is curious about behaviour, and the explanation for it. Taking a course in psychology was David's choice. He too has childish moments, and he often asks "Why?" to the most curious things. He also asks philosophical questions, and contradicts the answer with another question. He is easily intrigued by things people really over look because of how common or ordinary it seems. He likes to tinker with things, often taking them apart and then putting them back together.
0II. strengths Theo: Optimistic, friendly, a good writer, conscious about David, forgiving.
David: A good writer, determined, faces the issues, polite, curious, is aware of Theo.
III. weaknesses Theo: Kind of slow to realize things, chatter mouth, amnesia, anxiety of being alone, can't handle stress.

0II. overall history Theo was born in London, England. A large house on the edge of the city is where he grew up. His parents were often away with work, not coming home for days on end, even when he was an infant. A nanny they hired was there to raise him. She was a young woman who wanted to do more with her life than look after a little toddler. She often left him alone, and neglected him. Only time she'd really pay attention was when he'd cry non-stop to yell at him, or meal time to feed him. This left Theo lonely, he didn't even have a sibling to play with.
Because of that he would spend most of his time in his room or outside in the yard. He had an imaginary friend he named David, but always called Davy. He knew Davy wasn't real, but Theo had fun with him. He would always play with his friend, and never worried about his nanny. His feeling of loneliness went away. By the time he was eight, the nanny was fired because his parents thought she was stealing from them. They never hired someone else, and Theo felt lonesome again. After that he played with Davy even more.
Slowly at the age of ten he started become forgetful, and Davy seemed to be harder to imagine. His parents came home for vacations, and found him acting strangely. Theo would throw fits for no reason, and almost thought of his parents as strangers. He would hear whispers of how he thought Davy would sound if he were real. His parents brought him to doctors, and because of hearing Davy, they misdiagnosed it as Schizophrenia. In reality it was David beginning to develop as a personality of Theo.
When Davy was completely gone as an imaginary friend, David was completely developed as a personality. Theo was then correctly diagnosed with DID as an fourteen year old. His feeling of loneliness was then amplified into a form of anxiety. Always one of his parents stayed home while the other one went to work for that week. It turned out troublesome, but it was for Theo's health.
A year later they moved to New York City for work, and to help see if they could treat Theo's DID. There he had trouble getting adjusted, with David and a new environment. He started to attend psychotherapy, which was to help the personalities merge. The therapist started with hypnosis to understand both identities. As this happened David came into control, and had an anxiety attack. The therapist then told his parents that he believed Theo had two identities to keep the mind from having a feeling of loneliness, and that it was best to leave them separate.
People always told Theo high school was hard, and learning to cope with David and having to deal with everyday problems proved that to be true. By his Senior year David and Theo had a grip on how DID worked. And just to make sure no anxiety attacks occur they always carried their prescription, which got them into trouble quite a few times.
After high school they started college, Theo wanting to be an English teacher, and David wanting to take psychology. They got a job as a waiter part time. Every now and then they break down or have an expected switch, but they understand how it works, and generally have it under moderate control.
III. sample postTheo trotted into the kitchen of the restaurant through the back door. Hurriedly he tied a little apron around his waist, hoping no one realized he was ten minutes late for his shift. Too late, Amanda, another waiter, had noticed. "Late again, huh?" She asked him teasingly. Lucky for him, Amanda wasn't a tattle-tale, or else the manager would be at his heels in a split second.
"Yeah, lost track of time." Theo answered with a sigh and a nod. This was true, but it was only because he needed to consult a teacher. It was a good enough excuse on Theo's part.
"Well, I'm working the seating job tonight!" Amanda waved good bye, and headed out into the dining room. Theo only bid her farewell with a cheery little "Toodles!" He sat in the stuffy kitchen waiting for Amanda to call telling him customers had come. In the mean time he watched as cooks were busy running about, making sure everything was organized. A few other waiters stood and watched also.
Amanda's head finally popped into the kitchen, "Hey, we've got people already at tables 1,4,7,and 8!" Her head quickly disappeared again. "Tables 7 and 8 are mine." Theo muttered under his breath to himself. He slapped on a content grin, and playfully eyed a grouchy looking waiter. He noticed the cooks had a look of relief as waiters slowly streamed out of the kitchen to attend to customers.
Theo first approached table 7, where a young couple sat. They intently gazed over the menu, without even a notice of Theo. "Hello! My name is Theo, and I will be your waiter for tonight. Would you like to start with drinks?" He recited the routine in a almost robotic tone. They were his first customers, but Theo knew all too well that it was going to be a long night of waiting on people.
